Other turbos with a T3 flange?

an exhaust leak won't affect spoolup really...only boost leaks will(he's getting full boost at 3-3500rpms anyhow, there isn't a leak..

Dude, you're killing me! Yes, I'm leaving too much to interpretation here. I have a T3 (old school technology that I do not trust). I believe there are good Garrett turbos out there (I do not have one of these - mine is "Air Research" aka Turbonetics). I will not put another turbo of the same technology in my ride. The GT30 is a dual ball bearing of different technology. Thus, I would be willing to give it a try if people think it is a good solution.

Now this is the help I was looking for! THANK YOU! Do you know or can you recommend the A/R that I would want. I think I'm at .48 and .60 right now on my T3 (stick close to that, or should I have something different). What do you have?

Expensive as hell though...(nervous) You'd have to lay down some serious couinage! (eek2)

Yeah, those are beautiful, but not cheap. I just need one that works and I'm expecting it won't be cheap.

The GT30 seem to be a bit big on that link. The Garrett page show them with a .71 trim, which is bigger than what I have but better than a .8 or a 1.0! Doesn't tell me what the other side is though.
 
don't forget in the sizes of the wheels, will affect the turbo lag also, not just a/r sizes..mine is .48(turbine)/.60(comp), but they are pretty big wheels, im not positive on the sizes..
 
the hks lines are good turbos(imo) and the gt stands for ball bearing if you didn't already know for the hks'..
 
outa curiousity, you every try break boosting from a roll?? i think you will definately change your mind about the whole lag thing...just be carefull because you might lose control of the car if you aren't ready for it(not sure how much power you are pushing but my car definately gets loose doing this)

I dont think the gt30 has anything other compressor than a T4.
I would expect full boost until 4K but it would make hella powa!
