ok, here's the deal now. i'm officially requesting that you (Perrin Performance) produce a lightened crank pulley for the FS-DE(T) engine. i have a 1500w sound system to power, i'm not about to underdrive my already weak alternator.

Already in the works. Not sure of the release date...I will find out on Mondy. MSRP = $169.99

HEY,
New part (yippy)

Here are some images of the short shifter.
It is available now. MSRP = 179.99

The ALTA Performance short shifter features an innovative adjustable design for short and really short shifting. Have the freedom of infinitely adjusting your throw from 0% to 45% shorter than stock!
Knob position is also adjustable. During installation you can move the shift knob closer or further away from you.
Made of hardened 1144 steel with a black oxide coating insures long term reliability and performance. Steel will also prevent shift rod distortion from racing style shifts.
The ALTA Performance short shifter will not affect your transmission!
Illustrated step by step instructions are included.

This last image is one I made a long time ago to demonstrate how the shifter works. The shifter in the image is similar, but slightly different then the MSP. Overall function is the same. You can see how our revolutionary design allows you to adjust the short shifter with ease. Simply repossition the pivot point (ball thingy) to change the shifter throw. This adjustment is made form inside the vehicle.

Two updates.

The lightened crank pulley should be ready with in 6 weeks. Of course the prototypes will be ready sooner but being realisticly i would bet you would see this part at you favorite dealer in November.
Attached is a picture of our Subaru WRX Pulley. The MSP will be virtually identical in look but will off course include the Cog ring attached for the timing sensor.

As for the Down pipe.
I see a lot of chatter on the forums in anticipation of our possible down pipe. I have had many conversations with our designers about the down pipe. We are having difficulty designing the part to produce horsepower and still fit with existing customers parts.
Let me explain.
As far as i can tell every exhaust manufacturer including ourselves makes a cat back or down pipe back exhaust which bolts to the stock exhaust flanges. So if we design a down pipe which will work for customers who either have existing exhaust systems or choose to use and competitors exhaust, we have to use the factory flanges.
The problem is.....Even if we make the pipe out of 3" stainless, built with the coolest waste gate air diverter, it will have to attach the stock 2.25 inch flange. Unfortunately this will kill any horsepower that the fancy design may have generated. (uhm)
Of course you can argue that theoretically their may be a SLIGHT increase in power with this design, but I do not think that will be enough to justify the high price of this complex unit at all. I think i would have to recommend the customers money be spent on other improvements which will gain more horsepower for the dollar.

Sorry for being so long winded. (yawn)

Please let me know your thoughts.

I love you guys. As far as the downpipe goes, I suggest you at least make one that will fit your cat-back exhaust...or perhaps make a kit that's a turbo-back exhaust..who cares about other people's exhaust's I want yours!

i bet that will be the consensus......people want this DP

make it to be efficient with a turbo back exhaust that you sell, then maybe make a mid-pipe to go between the good DP and and the catback, stock or otherwise

I'm in on the DP as soon as you make it to fit your exhaust. If others want to modify it to fit theirs then so be it, but make it to fit yours. PLEASE!!!

Yea at least make the dp for your exhaust. I installed the exhaust today and wow talk about great sound and performance. I give it a (2thumbs)
