Dyno on a 13b rew with quite a few mods appears to be 323hp/284tq according to this page:

While I haven't dynoed my car, it doesn't make even close to those numbers. My mods are listed and involve mostly suspension, but if I had to guess, maybe 270 rwhp. But remember, it's only ~2800 lbs. (thumb)

...but I wanted something which was fun to drive, looked nice, and had a warranty. Also, I wanted something with a good residual value, so that when it's paid off in 2 or 3 years I can trade it in and get something nicer, most likely a corvette...
So did I. But it depends on how you look at it. I bought my FD (it's paid for) about 2.5 generally trouble free years ago, at a price roughly half of what a Z cost. Even with the additional mileage (now 70k) it's still worth within 1k of what I paid for it. There is your "residual value". I also suspect it's cheaper to insure, and in most States, is taxed way less. You got me on the warranty though.
BTW, I liked the Z06 too, maybe in a couple of years.

So yeah, the RX7 is definitely a fun car, unfortunately it just isn't what I'm looking for.

Yep, you got it - and I've also developed a jealousy for the MSP, MP3, Humor, Off-Topic, and Authorized Vendor Sales....

gucking fenius!

The RX-8 is a good little car, just didn't impress me enough. The RX7 definitely impresses me more, and is more likely to turn my head than an RX8.

I think that RX-8 dyno you posted is an auto. Most dynos I've seen for the 6 MT ranges from 175 to 195. Thanks Mazda, for another sloppy tune.

BTW did you go out of your way to find the lowest possible dyno number you could find?

oh no, the rx-8 isnt the fastest car!!11!! i need to trade it back in becasue it sucks (yupnope)

LMFAO!!! THAT'S funny!! it's goin in my sig...

Jun of 03 build date here, and I have had none of the common problems. I did have a diff replaced at 2800 miles, it was whining like mad. Since then it's been perfect. No flooding, no fried coil packs, no tranny issues, nothing. I love my thirsty pig......

oh...and what is the deal with black? Everyone on here has a black one? hahah Y'all got great taste! (cabpatch)

au contraire...

Issues list to date:

15K-Tranny Rebuild
19K-New Engine, New Oil Metering Pump
22K-Tranny Rebuild
All else that follows, I became uninterested in keeping track of the milage, but current milage to date is right at 27K
New Auxiliary Port Motor
New Spark Plugs
New Coil Packs
New Coil Packs
New starter
E. shaft sensor adjustment
Overheating that has been going on for some 3,000 miles is still unresovled

Wow. Sorry to hear your still having troubles. Is there a "Lemon Law" in Texas? Either way, I think I'd be calling the district sales rep for MAZDA, given all that. Seems like it would be cheaper for them, and obviously far less hassle for you if they just put you in another car.
