MSP vs. IS300

What do you guys think about that comparison? Im getting married this summer and that is gonna be our other car... I personally think its an overpriced MSP minus the handling...and of course turbo...but damn they look nice

She's partial to the IS300.... I really want the Silverado SS or the new Acura TL??? it think it is the 270hp one. but either way they are all sweet....I love her taste though... she had an MX6 with 12,000 under the hood. Ran low 12's ... time for the family car lol

Remember the IS300 is normally aspirated, straight 6, rear drive, difficult to find in a stick, and costs 50% more than an MSP. Check recent C&D for driving dynamics - they may be close in looks, but the IS300 has lo-ong legs and the MSP is more of a sprinter/cone crusher. Make your decision on what you can afford and what kind of driving experience you want - realize though thet they're completely different animals under the skin.

yeah...both are very good cars, but the IS300 is heavier and will cost a lot more to mod due to the low availability of good parts. they can be very nice if you do some mods one at a time. but have fun with both ! just don't let your woman take too much seat time in your car ! haha

is300 had the same 2jz as supra did, if that gives you any clues....(turbo kit, hint hint)
also JDM market for those is HUGE, but if you r buying it as only family sedan, too much money.....

It was probably the year before 2002. Also the 02+5speed (Sportcross), have probably the same identical same performance #'s as the MSP. If not the same maybe a little better. I know the Topspeed is higher than the MSP. The MSP's is around 135+, while the 02+IS300's are around 143-145mph.

Maybe slow compared to your TurboII RX-7. But it is around the ballpark of MSP, RSX Type-S, Sentra SE-R, Celcia GT-S, Integra Type-R territory. Plus+ it's a Sport's Luxury sedan.

my friend has an IS and it looks bad ass.. but since you are getting married wouldnt you want more of a luxury car since you have your "sports car" (msp)? like you mentioned.. the new TL.. pushing 270 n/a horses like the beast that it is.. haha

I have both and love both. The IS300 is also a fantastic handler. If your looking to go crazy on mods then is300 hands down. Rear drive, supra motor, whats not to like? Money no object IS300, on a tighter budget but looking for a fun car to drive and mod the msp is great.

I am a HUGE fan of the IS300 and would take it over my MSP in a heartbeat. (still have love for the MSP tho). But, I wouldnt buy one without taking a look at a G35 sedan, or a BMW 3 series. thats just my opinion, if your gonna buy a car, you gotta check out cars in its class to see how they compare. All of which are very nice cars, I would be tossed up between the IS and the Bimmer. But go test drive all of them, and any other car your interested in.

I'm just a fan of PURPOSE built vehicles. The IS300 has no purpose in my book. Give me a cheap pocket rocket or a purpose built sports car. I don't like the in-between bulls***.

actully theres a slight problem i heard about the IS300,

and just like the MSP its that the tranny dosent hold the power like a Supra does.....it maybe a rumor, caz i only heard it

but other than that a IS300 is basicaly a 4 door Supra with some less wieght

this guy with a IS.. my friends friend is pushing crazy power.. so i dont know.. i know nothing of those cars.. laserbluemsp.. g35 SEDAN!? COUPE!! GO COUPE COUPE COUPE! coupe looks nicer.. in my opinion.. by far..
