MSP helpp!!

thanks for all the advice... i had a miss type i ment to say that when i plug the wastegate line the vacuum goes from -6 to -20... and -20 is normal... yeah im going to order the wastegate tmrw hopefully that fix's the prob cause all i have had is probs with this car so far!! :( ... ok so there is another prob that im facing lol... this one is very very very weird and cannot understand it... so when i first bought the car it had this funny smell... so i took it home and opend the hood and i swear to god it smells like someone lit like 100 joints or a lbs of weed, or ran over like 100 skunks... and i CANNOT figure out what the **** it is lol i thought i was going crazy so i had my brother smell, my sister inlaw, my neighbor and everyone says the same exact thing... is there something that can burn and smell like that? oil? power steering fluid? brake fluid? i am clueless... this car is the biggest mistory i have ever incounterd lol thanks for all the input guy/girls (deadhorse(deadhorse

that may just be the usual MSP burning coolant smell. they run a lil hot, so they tend to do that...

don't use that as an excuse not to look into it though, as it could be an oil leak or something else fairly serious.
 
YOu need a new wastegate.

Also get a new thermostat, and coolant temp sensor. Get a new radiator cap as well. And fix the leak on your reserve tank.

ok so now i have done a little work on the car i have changed the plugs, ignition coils, wires, and changed most of the vacuum lines! and the vacuum is still at -6. so i was thinking maybe it was the wastegate, so i pintched off the vacumm line that runs to the wastegate and when the line is completely blocked off the vacuum shots right to -20! so im thinking that the wastegate is stuck open? but the only thing that draws me away from that is when i try to blow air into that vacuum line no air gets threw? another symptom that i am dealing with is that when i accellirate in any gear, giving in full throttle the car bucks and and jerks up untill like 5000 rpms...! also when i accellirate quickly then let go of the gas and take it out of gear the car loses power and turns off! i am still totally clueless, i am purchesing a wastegate act. and seeing if thats the prob! any ideas would be greatttt thanks alot!!

more than likely the wastegate diaphram is torn so its leaking at idle (thats your vacuum loss) and its leeking under boost so its not opening the plenum to let out extra exhaust gas so its causing higher boost. thats my take and it looks like you exhausted all others options. ppl like the atp cuz you get a free pound of boost, others like the forge replacement because it remains adjustable but say the boost drops off with it.
 
in cars of our age vac leaks are very common. the first thing i did when i bought my speed was to replace every vac line in the car. i also replaced the plugs with ngk platinums and my failing WGA with the ATP one which works like a charm. when in doubt just replace it. the ones that came on our cars are crap and go quickly. the other thing that i did to "remove" the first owner was use a little bit of sea foam in the car before replacing the plugs. mine has been running like a charm lately 'knock on wood' with hardly any hesitation at all. Oh ya, an FMIC and hard piping REALLLLLY help that problem too

Full Throttle=open loop..... maybe the car is too lean in open loop causing fuel cut?

thanks for all the help guys/girls... so i rele think that its the wastegate so i orderd a new forge one should be in in a few days! it does feel like a fuel cut and i was also running a code for to lean and also some weird p0660 code that is for the vcis/vics or something.. its for the butterflys in the mani... i am hoping that this cose is being caused buy the vauum leak at the wastegate cause thos sensors also run on vacuum! i hope its the wastegate!!! but the weird thing is that today i was driving the car and it was moving, i mean like floored it in 1st and tires broke lose and then after like maybe 20 mins of normal driving back to the throttle bucking and hesitation!! i am clueless thanks for all the help any info would be great!!

also are there any cheaper ways of lowing the car without buying full 1000 doller suspention or lowering springs? i was wonding if maybe there was a a coil sleeve or something??

you now what I've been wanting to do for a while is replace the gasket at the throttle body. I also heard hissing a while back when I pressure tested the pipes around that area and I torqued things down but still heard something. although my vac is at -20 but my afr's are jumpy I mean like 13.8-15.5 and then once in a great while bottoms out to 17 and stalls out and restarts.
 
Still having problems

Hey so im still having the problem with the bogging and the low vacuum at -6 and now i am having a new problem, my car will not go into gear after driving it for a little while.. ill stop get out for a little then go and try to start the car and put it into gear and nothing i have to turn the car off and put it into gear... even then when i have it in gear and the clutch is engaged the car is moving.. so im trying to figure out if its the clutch or the throw out bearing or the master cyclender? cause it only does it sometimes and the clutch is not slipping... anyone have and ideas???? this car is killing me the most problems that i have ever had!!! ughh need some help thanks!
