MSP No. 970
i'm curious about my gas mileage over here and interested on what others get to the tank....I have a 2003 MSP running with a full set of hardpipes and a HKS BOV & Injen intake, I'm doing oil changes with Synthetic Lucas, and 5w20 Mobil One oil every 2k and 30165k on the car itself. I have NOT done a full out tune up yet tho, I've done a coolant flush, and power steering flush also (not like it makes a difference lol) ...i run on a full tank of gas hmmm about ballpark 155 miles until im dry again and that damn yellow light comes on reads EMPTY! lol waaaay not cool.....i just wanna see who else in the MazdaSpeed world has any issues with thier gas mileage, and how if possible people solved their problems or found a way to work around it? Speak up, and post your gas mileage issues!

Depends had 380 on my last fill up, 440 before that and 300 before. Mine is stock at 31000 miles. Its ppretty funny with the gas milage fluctuations.

....well its safe to say im getting some serious bad gas mileage over my way....damn gas prices!!....I'm gonna be the first to convert a Turbocharged Protege to run off cooking oil, buy it by the bulk lol

Acetone Works.... Has Worked For Years. My Father Used To Sell A Addative That Was 95% Acetone. He Sold This Addative To A Company In Hawaii That Had 5000 Vehicles, Which Ran A Test On A Group Of 200 Vehicles (mixed Between Trucks, Cars, And Diesels) In All Cases They Reported Gains Over 2mpg And Cleaner Emissions. The Diesels Benefitted The Most With Less Moisture In The Fuel And Gains Over 5mpg. Another Major Benefit Of Acetone Is That It Destroys Carbon Build Up... This Was Found On A Few Vehicles Reaching Thier Tune-up Check Point, These Vehicles Spark Plugs Were Clean Along With The Cylinders And Piston Faces. Some Investigation Showed That The Acetone Also Helped To Clean The Fuel System And Break Up Clogs.

The Problem With Acetone Is That When You Weigh The Cost To Benefit Gas Companies Would Lose Too Much Income Because Of Two Factors. Factor One Acetone Is A Manufactured Substance Not A Refined Natural Substance (manufacturing Costs), And Factor Two Is That With Increased Mpg Sales Would Be Drastically Reduced.

It really depends on how I drive.
If I granny it during the summer, I can get a little over 400 miles per tank.
If I drive hard in the winter, I get just a little over 300 miles per tank.

Yep, between 325 and 400 miles. That boost is a gas-guzzler! But yeah, 155 miles is s*** for mileage. Something is definitely wrong.

I get anywhere from 240 to 400 miles per tank. I've only goten 400 with 100% highway. 240 is if it's all city driving with plenty of WOT boosting.

i use to only get about 250 miles to a tank. then all of a sudden one day i started getting 300+ . it was like hittina switch, kinda weird..

Do you use 92 oct or above or the Cheap gas??

The Turbo Cars Require 91+ Correct?

That's All I Have Been Using Here In Arizona And I'm Getting 28mpg Give Or Take Depending On Driving Habits.
