I am paying $1200 for 6 months coverage under progressive. I feel I am paying too much and was interested in knowing if anyone else thinks that way.

I have a handful of speeding tickets and I am 27 with probably the most average coverage for a financed car. I know there are a lot of factors but I am just looking for a rough idea about how much extra I am paying cause I think its a lot. I would shop for insurance with other companies but I was told that your record updates with your insurance co. when you get checked by other companies and some tickets might pop up on your current insurance co.'s data.

HA!!!! I pay 3000 a year and I have a handful of tickets and I am 24 years old. I wish I had your insurance payments!!!

I have progressive as well and pay $550 for 6 months. I haven't had any tickets or accidents though for at least 3 years. I'm 32. When I was in my mid 20's, my COI was about where yours is at now.

I'm 42, on Esurrance, $552 for 6 months. No tickets, no claims. My car is a lease, so I have to carry higher than normal liability limits.

I'm 51 on Farmer's Insurance. $255 every 6 months.
I carry higher than average liability and $1000. deductible.
$100. deductible on glass.

Man I guess I am lucky...I use Geico...my payments just dropped 25 dollars a month I am paying 97 a month now. I am 28 with a good driving record though. They dropped after the first six months.

They have been good...thats for full coverage...

$1,300 a year with USAA with max coverage here in Jersey. 32, married w/child. No tickets/accidents in 4+ years, but that's with a multicar discount.

Your age and record are only a part of your insurance premiums. The amount of coverage, your marital status, gender, where the car is registered, and the amount of total claims other drivers in your area have filed make up the rest. So, it's hard to tell whether you're paying too much unless we're your clone.

p.s. oh, and I pay $70 per month for $100/$300k/$100k with $500 deducts and a multi-line discount.

hmm... NO tickets, with Geico, I pay $870 for 6 months. NO accidents. Poor FICO though, which I know they take into account. I just found out I could do the same coverage with allstate for $700. I'm 30.

It looks like I gotta get married and have kids.

those are more expensive...

Im 24, no tickets, 475 every 6 months. tickets really own you with most insurance companies. Progressive removes infractions from your policy after 3 years though which is sooner than all other companies I have checked with. Some companies never remove them....

Yup, the tickets are owning him. That's why I always go to court when I get one, and at least talk my way into having it removed from my record. I'll gladly pay court fees to not get screwed on premiums.

What Kain said. There is no way someone else's premium has any relation to yours. Go out and get some quotes from other companies and choose your best. Lowest cost is also not always the best; check out consumer reports and do your own DD.

Oh, and stop getting tickets.

3200 a year, 18 years old, 2 tickets, on state farm, with multi vehicle and no accident discounts haha, imagine it without my discounts!!!! but its suppose to go down 400 bucks when i turn 19!! hell yea

I just paid $1164 for months Jan-June (6 months).

I'm in VT (second least populated state in the country), 23, male, 1 speeding ticket in a fully covered 08 MS3 insured with AIG (they just changed their name, can't remember it right now)

damn expensive if you ask me. I'm really hoping it does down sooner or later.

I'm 19 with no tickets, with a couple of discounts for multiple cars, house, and life insurance (I pay it, but I'm not on my own insurance)... It's $1250/6 months but I pay in full so it's like $980.

I had a 2006 RSX that I got when I was 16, and the insurance was only about $100 less then my 09 MS3.
