While there's no denying the wagon's practicality... I'm with newf on this one. While this car isn't ugly by any stretch. there's nothing overlly special about it. (which may have been mazda's plan) Since the aggressively styled msp didn't sell well (for reaons that had nothingto do with it's styling btw) maybe their plan is to take the ms6 approach and keep things relatively conservative. if that's the case, I'm guessing I can't expect a spicy orange version of this car. Don't worry...This thread will not be locked...now let's get back to the MS3...I agree with you guys...It appears to be somewhat conservative like the MS6 in terms of styling. Almost in a "euro" way. That said...I like it! It helps to validate the MS3's performance potential. I feel something special about the MS3...It's based on a great car and it has character...I hope Mazda has a hit with this one...

but seriously guys... in a way, wouldn't that sort've piss you off? I mean, granted... it would be in an effort to limit torque steer so I guess that's good... but, if I were to translate this approach into the msp (a car that suffers from TS as well) I'd sort've be pissed if I saw the psi needle only go to like 3 during 1st and 2nd... then jump to a whopping 7 lol afterwards..... give me all 7 damnit!!

one thing i hope is that the car has properly wide wheels, not some weird 18x6.5 or some other such nonsense. even 18x7 is in narrow territory for that diameter. i'd rather see 17x8s myself.

I *have* such a system, so I'm going to defend any bose s*** talking when it comes to the 3... but don't say that I think it's the best ******* system in the world... it's not, there's a lot more to be desired, but it came with the car "without a choice", and I don't regret having it... it's damn good for what it is and the price I got it.... and I'm one of those people who don't give two s**** about car audio, so don't even suggest that I "should've" gotten the car without it and "upgrade"... like I said, I couldn't even get the car without it
as for the MS3, it looks to me it DOES have the bose system... look on the door speaker grille in one of the photos, and you'll see the "bose" emblem
oh wait, I forgot you're in canada... bose is not even an option on the canadian 3s! that's too bad... sucks to the people who want a stock system but don't want to install thief magnets

Secondly, I'm no big Bose fan. My parents have a full Bose setup for our home theatre back home and it's really sub par for the extreme cost (and Bose is a non-profit). What I do like is the Bose systems I have heard in cars. My mom's 2003 Altima 2.5SL had the factory Bose and for 180 watts and no subwoofer it was stellar. They tune the system for the soundstage of the car it is going in so I think they know how to make a better sounding system than just tossing random aftermarket speakers in. In my mom's 2005 Altima 3.5SE (the 2003 4-cyl needed to go) the Bose system is even better. The head unit has basically the same button layout (even though the 05 has a welcome complete redesign of the interior) so I don't think it changed, but the amp in the trunk is bigger and IIRC puts out 20-40 more watts. If it was my car I wouldn't be compelled to install a subwoofer at all.
In conclusion Bose can sound great when they tune it for the environment it's being used in. For their home audio stuff, blech. I'm much happier with my Polk Audio setup in my college apartment.
Oh and BTW thanks RODSCALIP5 for posting those new pics. HOLY CRAP the interior is amazing. the seats, the 6-spd.. *drools*
If it was a Sedan I would be calling my mom every day telling her how much I loved her so that I could get the damn thing. As a hatch, I think it looks terrible. fat ugly slob of a car, but with such an amazing interior.
