Cobb Intake before and after dyno. Conditions from original baseline(Dyno run # 3) the same as today’s.

Dyno run # 3: Stock baseline. Fan on radiator
Dyno run # 4: COBB Short Ram Intake ($175) installed. Fan on radiator.
Dyno run # 6: Fan on top mount intercooler.

Nice numbers. Isn't DSR in south San Jose?

yes. didn't realize fan on intercooler made such a big difference. probably why there are such big differences in speed3 dyno #'s. as far modding goes moving forward, i'm still sticking with no fan on intercooler since my baseline didn't have it.

Yes, if you do place a fan ontop of the TMIC, you'll get a little bump since the TMIC isn't heatsoaking. Numbers usually run lower after the 1st or 2nd run because of heatsoak.

You should of went to the shop on the other side. Is called EIP.
i've done dynos with these guys before and know their dyno is pretty accurate based on my other car's stock dyno so sticking with these guys.

$100 for 3 pulls. if looking for a deal and local, go to modacar dyno day on the 4th. $40 for 3 pulls.

Impressive numbers. I think I may go FMIC and Cobb SRI. It's obvious by dyno runs that the TMIC is worthless.

Who is going to be the first (AFAIK) to do a custom ram air mod to their hood to get cool air to the IC? A nice carbon fiber one........

DG makes a CF ram air hood for the IC. SU sells them, kinda pricey of course. As far as a ram air mod for cheap, it would would very difficult without cutting your hood.

I gotta ask since I read that you can dyno with a fan on the radiator and on the intercooler.

What if: you shut the hood so the air flowing from the front actually ducted properly through the front nostrils and onto the TMIC? It'd probably be the most realistic anyhow right?

they took fan that was blowing on radiator and pretty much aimed it at intercooler(not on it but like a foot away from it). i think they had to dyno with hood up since they had to connect something somewhere engine bay. i dont think a fan can replicate freeway speeds but i could be wrong. my baseline is fan on radiator so will dyno like that moving forward and doing 1st runs since consecutive runs heatsoak tmic terribly.

225/255 stock with fan blowing on radiator not intercooler. with cobb sri, it went up to 235/270 with 20-30hp/tq gain at 3250 rpm. with cobb sri and fan blowing on tmic and letting engine cool for 15 mins, it dynoed at 250/285.
