Mileage problem!!

Recently i replaced my gauge cluster because i broke my needles.... *yes from the indigo :(* anyways, the car suppose to be at least 60k, but now it shows only 44k... i am guessing it was from the original car... so would there be any problems because of that??? plz help :)
 
my old protege :).... and now my sis tried to go do SMOG check, the engine light didnt come on when the car is bout to start... now it wont even pass emission :(!!!!!! so honestly there's no way to fix it other than giving it to dealership?!
 
Well if you have a digital milage, then you computer will keep track of your miles. That means that is you dont get it fixed then you could probably end up in some big trouble..

Just a thought...

I hate to ask the obvious, but you DID unhook your battery when you did this, right?

If not, unhook and rehook the negative terminal to reset your ECU.
