Friday we had an open test 'n tune before an SCCA Regional/Regional race. I was paddock marshall so the track gave me a 'hall pass' to run all day.
First out I helped a guy that runs a team of 6 Spec Miatas scrub in new Khumo Victo's, gotta drive two of the cars. They don't have enough power to get out of their own way. They have rear-end twitch under threshold breaking.
Later I had a chance to take the MSP out, box-stock, OE tires and flashed. on a back straight where the Miata would hit (maybe) 85, the MSP was consistantly at 102 in the same place. On the main (5,555 feet) straight the MSP could break 100 feet later
Lap times were about the same, but I wasn't pushing either car and the Miata had race tires so that's kind of an apples / oranges thing.
Wonder what a MSP motor in a Miata would be like? Hmmm.
