Well, here is the latest update..
Tonight, I did a few runs around my neighborhood. That ended in me getting my car to rev even better! So what prompted all this? On the way home, just as I was getting into my neighborhood there was this silver V6 Mustang (pre-2005) that was in front of me. I got behind them, and they took off. I would take off too and just catch them without downshifting..lol! So we get to a stoplight, and turn left. He takes off, but slows down as I was speeding up, so I shot past him. I slowed down, and went to 2nd gear. He lined up, and took off, and so did I. He was right next to me. As I shifted to 3rd, he jumped a fender, but as soon as I got into 3rd, I pulled it all back, and when I shifted to 4th, I pulled a car on him before I had to shut it down. If the road had been longer, ownage was emminent for the Mustang...lol! Well, during all this, I noticed at the top of my RPM range, that I had a flat spot where my accelleration would fall off, and my tach needle would get sluggish. I circled back and did a run, and noticed that I got a slight cracle, and my A/F ratio was too rich. Hmmm.. could being too rich be causing me some pre-ignition? You bet! I had spent all that time doing my ignition, that I had neglected to pay attention to the fuel map. So another run was done, and I watched my RPM's, my widband, and felt for the bogg and the cracle. Got it! after 5500, and right before 6000 RPM's, I get way rich, and get the flat spot. At about 63 kPa (9 PSI), I took out 2% of fuel at the 5500 and 6000 RPM ranges, and 1% at 6500 RPM's. Then I took out 1% for 73 kPa at the same RPM ranges. Damn! I went for another run, and it PULLED across the RPM wall it was at previously without a problem. My exhuast actually woke up a little up top! Reminded me of a quiet S2000! Looking at my wideband, I would hit 12.2 on my A/F max, and it would level off just below 12. I'll post up the file and picture later.
