LinuxRacr's Haltech E6X Log..

Yeah, I agree. BTW, here's a picture of yesterday's find as I left work:

The retune is going very well. I was able to eliminate a lot of areas where pinging was occuring. It pulls VERY hard! The only problem is that I have no boost control right now. If I floor it, and keep it floored, the boost will keep going up. For some reason, I just can't seem to figure out how to make the Tial Wastegate work with the Haltech Boost Controller...

This is the only hint I have found as of yet: http://p210.ezboard.com/fhaltechdiscussionforumfrm1.showMessage?topicID=1251.topic

Looks like Kasmankk had the same problem.

I got the boost controller option figured out finally, thanks to Juan, Brian MP5T, and Kasmankk. I will post a pic of how I routed my lines later.

So are you sticking with the 15psi??? Don't be afraid man!(thumb)

I still have to tune my wastegate duty cycle to get me there (now that it's not spiking there uncontrollably), but yeah, as long as the injector duty cycles hold, and the car doesn't ping, I am game.

Well, The last thing I need right now is to kill my transaxle! I finally sorted out my boost controller issue. I couldn't boost above 10 PSI after I routed my lines properly. I had to turn my boost solenoid duty cycle up to 90% to get the boost to go to 15 PSI. Now I have steady boost, and it feels damn good! (eekdance)

Just made one of my greatest breakthroughs yet! While driving around lately, it seemed like no matter what I did to prevent ping, I would. It was getting frustrating. Retarding timing to the point of loosing that "throw you back" feeling. Adding fuel little by little to get my A/F ratios a little lower. "Krackle-Krackle!" is what I would here..almost as if my car was making fun of me. Last night a lightbulb came on. (thought)
The crackling was happening mostly at partial throttle after I had nailed it, got some serious speed, and then was backing off the throttle slithgly and holding the position. Then it occured to me that I had turned my closed-loop control back on after I "thought" I was about done road-tuning. It has a maximum throttle position setting which I had set to 25%. What this meant is that it would try to do A/F correction to around stoich (14.1:1 A/F) up until I passed 25% throttle. That means that at 26% throttle, I would go open loop finally. With the new setup, the turbo spools up considerably faster, and this, I realized wasn't going to cut it. I adjusted the setting to 15%, and the pinging went away, but I bogged rich too soon. I set it to 20% which seems to be the magic number. I did some partial throttle tests on the highway at that setting to see when the boost threshold would be crossed, and at what throttle postition that was. It worked! So for the final test, I loaded up one of my previous maps with more timing, and nailed the throttle. Where's the ping? Didn't hear any! Getting the hang of tuning this thing. If only I didn't have to drive while doing it...

hahah the s2k and the gt are pretty close. It will be a rolling race cuz patrick wont hook up for s*** from a stop. I will video tape the runs.

I defintely need to get on a dyno. Some SRT-4's are faster than others... That was the case tonight. Back on topic!

Yep, after tonight, I've gone as far as I can go with road tuning. Gotta get on the dyno now ASAP!!

Its about time. Glad to see it has come together for you. Good luck on the dyno.
