Light Scratches

touch up paint

my old man used to paint BMWs and he showed me a cool trick for using touch up paint.....use toothpicks. yep just get a little bit of paint onto it so it is wet and then touch it to the scratched area and let the capillary attraction disperse the paint. it worked great for touching up my nissan back in the day. now if you want to make it look 100% the same you are going to be going through a big process with the abrasives that were metioned.
get used to it though....the paint on proteges sucks.:(

same idea as the rubbing compound? or is it a bit safer? sorry to be so anal everyone but im so ANAL about my car my wife doesnt even like to come with me anywhere cause i park so far away from civilization

Trust me I'm as anal if not more anal and I wouldn't use the stuff if it wasn't easy, fast, worked good, and safe for the car. GS-27 has worked for me a number of times, it's very easy just use a pad to spread the gs-27 around on the scratched area, making circular motions and pressing with a decent amount of force, once it's all gone wipe the remander away with a soft damp towel, for most scrathces it does the job, my MSP has 2500 miles on it and I've used the stuff three times to get rid of scrathces that I've found and each and everytime the scratch went away without having to wax, glaze, or anything else major to the car, just work it into the scratch and then wipe it off, it's just that easy. I say it's inexpensive so what have you got to lose, the worse that's going to happen is the scratch might still be there and then you know you need to go more dramatic.

thanks everyone, im gonna pick up some GS27 today and go from there...ill have to take some before/after pics
