I ended up calling the guy and getting everything sorted. He apologized a couple times and we had a laugh about it. Oy vey. haha

Back to my regularly scheduled build thread. :)

Put the computer down and pick up that phone. That's how it's done. Computers turn lots of men into jerks or morons

Tell me about it. When I have moron customers who email me 300 times I just say, "Here's my number and my extension, please call me. This can be a 5 minute conversation or 300 more emails.". Lulz

Yea Lewis, once I wrote that, I then began to read about your thread. That's why I edited out, I realized you were quite smarter than that. I can't wait to see the rest of this build. It looks clean. It looks like I might be picking up a clean shell over the next few months and redoing my swap. Second time is always nicer and cleaner. This time it wont be on my daily.

I am curious to see how this techflex works out for you.

Question;

I bought a 255 Walbro fuel pump from a friend a while ago. Is it okay to install it now with the standalone and a fuel pressure regulator? The stocker worked fine for my last swap and I was seeing good AFR's but this fuel pump has 223k miles on it in the Bat Wagon so I would like to swap it out with the new (used) fuel pump.

...maybe there is hope for my beat miata as well ;)

Oh and Evan, I see no reason why the new fuel pump would be an issue. You have a standalone and the FPR, so why not?

Shae, I think I've said "thank you so much" as many times as you've said "I'm glad she went to a good home". Haha, so again, thank you so much. I really love this car and how clean everything is and how easy it is to work on. Oh, and you're old motor is still running strong in my friends MSP. :)

Ryan, that's what I was thinking too. I'll swap that bugger out today as well.

same thing here - I work in Customer Care for a software company.

I get the idiots that don't know what the "ID 10 T" button is or the "ahn-ahf switch". But they're real quick to turn into Muscle-bound jerks via email.....and won't return calls. Until I close their case they have with me, then they call with a huge attitude - and get real nice once I say "Ok, it seems there's no solution for this issue. It's been a pleasure attempting to help you. Have a great day."

fkn idiots...

4bishop, I'm pretty sure this is the one I bought. There was a link in Probetalk.com with it. I haven't installed it yet though so don't take my word that if fits/works yet.

JT, I didn't get s*** done today. I cleaned the house this morning (yay, no slob roommate for a month!) then asked Ivan if we could take the Speed3 to Harbor Freight for a workbench then to my house to use my press (which didn't work) to swap his front wheel bearing on his DD Probe. It turned into a whole day ordeal so I didn't get to touch the car today. And I'm only half way done assembly my new work bench and the work surface particle board has a huge chunk missing. God darn it. It was fun hangin gout with Ivan and Jake, but I'm a little bummed I didn't get to work on the P5 on this last glorious day before it turns winter.

But I did snap some quick pics of the battery setup yesterday. And I've got the battery cable ran along the drivers side and through the firewall with plenty of cable to spare.

I'm going to finish the trunk with carpet we have at work that matches the OEM carpet.

I love these cable strap mounts. :)

I saw that... and it made me feel like s***, more than I already do right now.

Sorry man. I've been really bad about all of that.

I'm not your mother, Phen. You should be able to pick up after yourself.

Back on topic, I was talking to JT yesterday and he mentioned I should put my battery behind the passenger seat or in the rear passenger seat bucket. Brilliant! So I'll relocate it there and re-run the wiring. Plus I can just use the OEM trunk carpet and it will look OEM. :)

What size battery did you get and is that a kill switch before it?

This is the Braille I bought from Wes. He bought it from Summit and never used it. It's the same one Justin (red KL swapped Protege) has been using for over a year without issues.

That's the 150 amp circuit breaker. I didn't get a kill switch.

Sorry for my lack of electrical knowledge, but why a breaker?

Because Jon said so. lulz

I've read you should have a fuse withing 18" of the battery. A breaker is just easier to work with so you can cut power without having to disconnect the battery while working in the bay and if it pops you can simply reset it and not have to replace the fuse. It was about $25 from Amazon.

ps- I don't know jack about wiring either, brotha.

A battery relocation is quite a bit more expensive than I first anticipated but it does free up a ton of room in the bay. And I was so used to seeing relocations to the trunk it didn't even occur to me to put it in the back seat (or lack thereof) until JT mentioned it. lulz
