Ladies & Gentlemen

Hey guys, just wanted to inform you that a new power house is coming. I am leaving tonight for Arizona w/ my girlfriend but before we leave my car is getting dropped off at my friends house, who just so happens to be a Mazdaspeed Master Tech, he has been working on Turbo cars for like 15 years. Anyways. It will stay in his garage where it will recieve a "JOE kit", all of them. He will be tuning the motor to 10 psi, and doing some "tweaking here and there," he said. I don't know what kind of HP I will be running but with all of my other mods it will be VERY FAST. I will be going to the track upon my return for AZ. I will post.

My list of mods are as follows:
HKS 3" exhaust
INJEN CAI
J'Spec Cams
Mazdaspeed Exhuast Cam
UR Underdrive Pulley
PIVOT Super Earth Ground Kit
Royal Purple Oil and Collant Coolant

Any guesses on HP #'s?

It will be boosted to 10 psi, from around 6, from what I have heard a otherwise stock MSP, but running 10 psi is MUCH faster than stock. We will se I guess

At 10 PSI, 3" exhuast , cams, and full CAI I would think you should be into the low 200's at the wheels.
My, properly corrected, dyno guess is 209 whp :D

IS that it, the cams were dynoed at adding aroound 20HP to the wheels, that would bring whp up to 170 the Intake said 10 pulley said around 8, exhaust and removing 1 cat around 10 I would guess. +4psi I would think 15-20 HP
#'s Should be mid to high 200's I would thinkwho knows, maybe my butt dyno is off. In any event it will sure be sweat not to have hesitation and more power

I think those cams are going to do little as they ae intended for NA aplications not Boost. Also I have yet to see any dyno that apully yielded 8 whp. When i added my exhuast and donw pipe, I didn't even notice a difference.

It could easily be more but I am just guessing as you are. I am not standing hard and fast behind that number.

170+10+8+10+20=218 And there is no way an intake is giving you 10 horses  I agree with 1st 209 sounds like a good number to me :D

To aviod a potential argument we need to make this fun.
Everyone puts $5 into a paypal and the closest quess wins 3/4 of the money. I think its only fair that BeamerKillr get a peice for being the subject of the wager (thumb)

Oh you guys are so funny.
I read a thread somwhere that after boosting to 10psi a MSP ran aroun 210+/- with no other mods. Mybe they were just blowin smoke.
Any body know where to get forged internals, I am looking to do some soon. I have thought about having the motor built @ Sunbelt Racing in Atl. they want about $6g's for a complete engine ballence, blueprint, forged internals, and all race duty parts. sounds tempting huh? :D

I hope you have another car becuase blue printed motor run like ass for daily driving.

I would give you 215-230 whp with decent weather and such. The mods don't all add up like you are thinking- I would be willing to bet that if you did the car stock with just boost, my FPR kit and a drop in K&N and then changed all the other stuff over, you would see about 10 whp max if you are lucky. Every little bit helps, but it does not add up the way you think it does. That is why I am so against people trying to sell parts by dyno #'s- it is usually a bunch of bulls***.

210 whp is really good for the street. Think, not very many sport compacts in the MSP price bracket are making 200whp. The stock WRX puts:
Stock WRX Max Wheel HP: 168.4hp @ 5731 rpm @12.1 psi

They run stock low to mid 14's. So think of it likes this. You will be very respectable on the street. Enjoy! :D

Cool, thanks for the info Joe & RAA, the info is good, I feel good, any guesses on 1/4 mile and 0-60. I love guessing,

Joe my cousin who drag races, told me not to calculate that way but i figured if I did in here then I could judge who was BSing by the way they responded.
He is runnig a street legal drop top 5.0 last run was 11.4 1/4 mi,its a true sleeper. His brother runs a '67 Shelby Cobra ACR it running low 9's. SSOOOOO FFAASST, 150 cool but it aint nothing till you do it 3" off the ground :)

My guess would be.... with a good driver and possibly some drag radials. mid to high... 13's. Try running some race gas also. That always help. You don't need a lot of hp to run fast times, just a good set up, traction and driving.

WRX is AWD.. so um, they have alot more drivetrain loss at the dyno. Theyd put down like 200 if it were front or rear wheel drive..

But anyways, good luck with the mods, id expect about 210whp, about 60 more than stock, which is very noticeable difference. Also, dont waste 6gs on the blueprint, etc. Just put some forged rods and pistons in, and save the rest for a tranny, just in case.

So that's what that little sticker on the back means....! LOL. Yes of course they have a lot of drivetrain loss. Agreed
