Key Fob Malfunction. Help!!

(bang)Ok so I've replaced my key fob battery before and never ran to this problem. Lately my key fob isn't working and I noticed the LED light on the fob isn't lighting up. So after replacing with a new battery, the led still did not light up and the doors would not lock/unlock. Anyone else experience this and found a fix or is my key fob broken? I've got another key fob and I'm noticing the led light is slightly flickering and the unlock/lock feature works sporadically..

When replacing the battery, sometimes it is a good idea to get all of the dust and lint out, and also bend the metal contacts slightly towards that touch the neg and pos sides of the fob battery, as they can lose contact.

Did that as well. Cleaned the lint, bent the contacts but still failed. After taking the battery out of my other key fob and placed it on the fob that's malfunctioning, it works normally. So I take the new battery and placed it on my other key fob, and this time its malfunctioned. My guess is the new battery I got maybe defective. I'll get it exchanged and see what happens then..(uhm)

Glad you were able to figure it out. I am sure having to reprogram the FOB isn't cheap at the dealership, they never are.

Ok so as it turns out, I bought a defective battery. Had it exchanged at the auto store, installed it, and all's well. I'm sure it's a very rare occasion, just goes to show not everything new is guaranteed to work properly.
