Why is it that everyone has to jump on everyone else's back for trying to help? Don't worry about who has to buy it and who doesn't, some of us are just trying to pass useful info on so you don't spend money in the wrong places..
Now everyone- go ahead and spend $300 on a pipe and air filter and rave about how much power the car makes when the only real gain is increased spool up thanks to the more air flow..
Damn, if I had known people would want to spend so much money for so little gain, I would have made CAI's all day long instead of spending all this time actually trying to make the car run right in the first place...
Yes, the Injen is a quality piece, yes it will increase air flow, no- it is not worth $320 for the "cooling effects" on a turbo car. Bottom line. Aside from the quicker spool, you will never feel a 12 hp gain anyway even if it does give that.. Turbo car vary by more than that with weather changes.

No offense to any of the other Protegeinas that do seem to so desperately desire to lay down 320 smackers for it.

320 really isnt that much. Personally Ill be first to sign up and get one. There not going to make alot of stuff for our cars, so when thay do be grateful or be silent. Now if anyone can make a intake that looks half-way decent, gives the same or more power(with dyno results), and can sell it cheaper(b4 I buy the Injen intake), Ill buy it. Til then. SHUT UP
Dyno results? As mentioned- 12 hp is good weather gains in a turbo car.. Not a $320 CAI gain.. I can dyno prove smaller tires giving you a 15-20 ft-lb torque gain, gonna buy new tires now too ?..
Again, we are trying to help, not be told to shut up. If you want to end up spending thousands on mods and still be slower than the next guy, then go ahead.. The group as a whole will suffer for a few peoples arrogance.. I have seen it before, people spend tons of $$ on worthless mods only to be slower than the guy who spent pennies in comparison on the RIGHT parts.. As I have said once already- once people start to bite the hand that feeds, the group will suffer..
There are a few of us making great progress on our cars and have literally $50 and the time spent TUNING into them (excluding my exhaust that I got to see what gains could be had).. We can just keep to ourselves and improve our own cars a lot easier than answering a million questions trying to help others who want realistic gains only to be told to shut up

PS- If I dyno prove 40+ HP out of my MBC, does that make it worth $1000+ (figure $26.67 per HP for the CAI )?? If so, I will even gold plate it for you ..

Looks Good, Gives some gains. Good enough for me. The Mazdaspeed aint no Porsche. Your just not gonna get much more out of an intake.
