ION Downpipe

Information- Ok guys, what we'll be selling separately is our 1-piece integrated down-pipe (basically the s-pipe + j-pipe) as well as our hi-flow cat section or optionally our race-pipe section along with an extra 3" flange for those who'll be having their cat-back built locally.

The member discounted price for the 1-piece integrated down-pipe + 3" hi-flow cat section + install hardware (stainless bolts, washers, nuts for spring bolts, 3" graphite matrix gasket) + 3" SS 1/2" thick flange will be $899US + shipping for payment via MO.

The member discounted price for the 1-piece integrated down-pipe + 3" race-pipe section + install hardware (stainless bolts, washers, nuts for spring bolts, 3" graphite matrix gasket) + 3" SS 1/2" thick flange will be $799US + shipping for payment via MO.

Sounds awesome, but too rich for my broke ass. I will have to go with the APEX.

hmm, so the cat-back section of iON's 3" exhaust is another $300 ? damn, this DP better be one helluva pipe.

As I remember from the OLD Ion threads it was the first true turbo-back. They combined the S-Pipe and J-Pipe into a cool looking piece with a seperate channel for the blowoff valve.
i think you mean separate channel for the wastegate.

jflo<SCRIPT type=text/javascript> vbmenu_register("postmenu_1182534", true); </SCRIPT> - No the cat-back section would essentially cost $600US + shipping at the member discounted price when bought separately; (The member discounted price on the full street spec system is $1399US + shipping for payment via MO)

Spooled - We had factored the R&D costs over 200 units to be able to get prices where they're at with the member discount. If we were to factor this R&D cost over say 50 units, you'd be looking at a minimum of $350US increase.

Just to put things in perspective, the "Street-unit" so-called "turbo-back" system has a 2.5" cat-delete section which then transitions into a 3" cat-back section for ~$1300US. That doesn't even include the "s-pipe" section or a hi-flow cat. Granted that they're using a HKS CF-Ti muffler; however if you're into it just for the name and not the actual performance - then that would be the route to go.

Good call on selling just the s-pipe/j-pipe. So now you can get the entire iON turboback in pieces? The s-pipe/jpipe and the catback? Thanks.

Wiggles422 - no it will not be offered alone; as there are very tight tolerances to make sure the exhaust will seal properly; hence the reason why it will be sold together.

Bummer... but it does make sense. Thanks for the reply.

brianmcd - The 1-piece integrated down-pipe is being sold only with the hi-flow cat section or the race -pipe section. You can optionally purchase the 3" cat-back section at a later date if you so wish to. However since all the piping is 3"; you won't be able to hook it up to the stock exhaust. It would have to be at least a 2.5" aftermarket cat-back set-up; at which point would still be required to be modified to fit properly with the components. Alternatively, you could get a custom 3" cat-back section made.

I'm glad to see you're selling this. If **********'s exhaust somehow does not go into production then I will buy one. Just to correct you on one thing, he is planning on replacing the S-pipe so it will be a full turbo-back.

I wouldn't buy the ********** exhaust either. What I am looking to do (along with a lot of other people on this forum) is ot get a good 3" s-pipe/j-pipe replacement and have everything else (mid-pipe back) custom made. $300-350 would be ideal for the s-pipe/j-pipe section.

Will they be selling the s-pipe also???
please say yes!!
You are going to have to get one hell of an adapter to fit the 3" ion DP with your CS DP-back exhaust. Swirling air and cavitation. Might as well sell your CS and get the whole exhaust.

Nice to meet you too ion. Seems like the cold weather up there in Canada is effecting your intelligence. Please, lets put things into persective...

Before you slander another vendors products, do some research. **********.com's Turboback is exactly what it is.

Here are a few past posts you can browse over so you can pull your head out of the snow and know what you are talking about before your next post.

Guys,
Looks like we will make one full setup from the turbo back which will be able to be purchased in sections (downpipe, midpipe, and catback), or in whole. We will use the C-Ti muffler and mendrel bent, stainless steel piping. Things are not set in stone yet so your feedback is appreciated...

Full Stainless Steel Turboback Exhaust System:
2.5" downpipe to 3" midpipe all the way back to the HKS C-Ti muffler

No catalytic converters or resonator
02 Bung
Vband clamps, no flanges, no flex pipe, see pic below for example...
http://www.turbohoses.com/Stage10-Completed.jpg

High estimated price is $1,300. Free shipping to the continental US as always.
I believe ion had issues with the speed of filling orders, or should I say, lack of speed. Is ion going to tend to that problem or will it take 2 months to fill orders on your exhaust also?

Please don't hate on other reputable businesses to get yourself sales. Thank you.

ion: this could sound like a dumb question, but what sizes are the 2 pipes that come off the main turbo flange?
With all do respect, you keep asking other vendors specs of their products and methods of testing. Almost like you are trying to copy their products. Its just a hunch, please correct me if I am wrong.

Thank you.
