Intake Install?

okay, im looking into getting a intake on ebay, not sure which one though probably gonna be a SRI though, cause i dont want to have to worry about water.. but i looked in my engine compartment today and there are two things attached to my stock intake i know the one towards the front is the MAF, but not sure what the other is exactly, i dunno if this just has to be relocated or what and where to put it? i drive a 03 black mica ES 2.0 5-speed

thats just ur temp sensor. im not sure how that works on sri's but on regular cold air intakes they usually have a place for that on the intake

how does that thing take a temp, its just a plastic pick? I saw it on mine and wondered what it was.

i no expert but it reads the temp of the air as it passes over it

Yeah there is a spot for something else but my question is, know that round hole with the rubber circle on the aftermarket intake what goes there, is it this thing, and how could this fit in there is there a piece you have to take off of it or something

your intake should have a slot for you to put that thing on, mine is a ractive sri, and that brass part has to be rotated 90 degrees for it to fit

That part is the purge solenoid valve. The AEM SRI has a bracket on which that part is to be mounted. The AEM also has a hole into which the IAT sensor fits.

oh okay, now i see i thought something from that went into where the black hole in the intake is.. lol i looked at the airbox again and noticed the thing right near the maf that definatly goes there.. but thanks guys
