seafoam is great stuff...i put it directly into the throttle body, though it uleashes a 007 smoke cloud like you wouldnt believe....

I used it on my civic...it had 170000kms on it...once I used this stuff....the car was a totally different car.

I poured this stuff through one of the available...ports in the intake manifold.

same idea....get the car up to a higher rpm...say 2500 rpms....you could pull off the vacume line going to the Cruise control....and slowly feed this stuff directly to the intake manifold.

you actually wouldn't even need to "pour" this stuff....once you get the rpms up...it will SUCK it out of the bottle (assuming you are using a vacume line).

Take the vacuum hose off the pcv (the one that splits and goes to two different intake runners). That is an extremely powerful vacuum source, be careful not to totally submerge the tube into the seafoam as you may stall the car.

Follow the directions, and after you let set for 5mins soaking. Start it up and let idle for a min. or so, then rev to 3k, let idle, rev, idle etc. Do not get on it right after the cleaning though because it probably will misfire at upper rpm and you guys don't need that.

Stupid question... how does it clean the injectors by putting it into the intake manifold? Seems like it would barely touch the injectors themselves. The injector cleaner stuff I used way back when went in the gas tank.

Yeah seafoam you can dump in your tank too....and in your oil....But your right, this is considered a top engine clean. It also cleans the tips of the injectors.

on the company website it says put 1/3 in your manifold, 1/3 in your oil, and 1/3 in your gas tank.

hey you said you did this every 2000 or 3000 miles right Thanks for the info

err if you're going to pour it into your gas tank be sure you dont have a full tank, this will dilute it a little too much...usually i'll dump a full bottle into about 5gallons of gas....

Just finished running this through my PCV and gas tank. It's good stuff and this is the first time I've used it in my MSP. I really wouldn't recommend using anything (even Lucas) in the oil, because unless it's actually oil it's going to displace the oil that's lubricating your car... Basically it'll dilute it. If you want to clean the oil system, I think it's best to put it in a half hour before you change your oil and let it run for 5-10 minutes, then let your car cool down a bit. Immediately before you change your oil run it for 5 more minutes, then change the oil. That's my opinion, but it's based on many lost hours at www.bobistheoilguy.com

yea warmning your fluids up is generally a good idea, as it will "thin out" the oil and allow for a faster and cleaner drain...man but I dont know if i would do it every 3k on a relatively new car...if you're using good high octane gas you shouldnt have gummed up injectors...

(mswerd) I think when it comes to these products it's easy to over do it, especially with how fun it is to watch the smoke from your tailpipe fill up the neighborhood. For Sea Foam or Gunk in the oil I'd suggest no more than every 12,000mi and for our injectors I think every 9,000 is good for stock or close to stock people...

i used this today. I put it in. Turned the car off. Let it sit for 5 min, and cranked the car up. Smoked for a minute and then stopped. We'll see how it did.
