If you could buy your car over again.... would you?

I will say that if I totaled my MSP or it were stolen, I'd buy an SRT-4. I was upside down on the GTI, so the SRT-4 didn't fit the budget (also making payments on the SVT). I've got gap insurance, so my loan would be paid and I'd easily be able to afford the SRT. Might also consider WRX.

Still don't regret the MSP purchase.

No, I wouldn't. My MSP looks great and handles great, but the number of problems I've had and the poor dealer service I've received have soured me on it. Some guys on this forum talk trash about Mustangs, but I've owned 4 and combined they didn't have as many problems as my MSP.

BTW..if you're looking for a spicy orange MSP in California, call Stockton Mazda. They had 2 on the lot when I was there this week.

It's a hard decision, but I think I'd buy my car over. I mean.. it is kinda slow if you're going in a straight line, and it's not AWD... but aside from that, it's a great car IMO. It looks great... and it's rare, which is very important to me.

i would, but i would give $6k rather than the $8K i gave and saveup for the spool turbo kit. oh yeah i got an mp3

sue me :)

hell yes, I'd buy this car all over again. Even after test driving new miatas, rx8s, the 3, a 6, a new mustang, a few nice SUVs and a variety of other cars out there, there really is no car that has this innate ability to put a smile on my face even when its something like a trip to the KwikEMart

i love my car but i think i should have gotten another 300zx. I should have gotten the mint 88 shiro edition for about 5 grand. put 5 grand into it, and have a true beast.

although the reason i got a new car is so i knew i would be able to get to work every day.

With all the problems the MSP has and 2 more people blowing their engines, I would buy a WRX if I could do it over again. I've seen WRX's advertised for $22,000 so they are not that much more for all the extra staff like AWD, 227 HP, 217 TQ, beefed up internals......

Let's put it this way. If I went back to where I was in May (looking for cars), I would have looked for a bit longer before buying an MSP.

Does that mean I would have bought a different car? No. But I would have looked at a few more choices before making a final decision.

I think I woulda gotten that WRX for $15000 instead of going with the MSP, FWD is really frustrating me after driving only rwd for last 2-3 years (my entire driving career) and performance issues are also starting to creep up, but the warranty and creature comforts mazda offers are great

would i b uy my car again

i love my Mica Blue MSP but if i had the option i would not buy it again simply because it is breaking the bank if funds were there and i could afford it my mortgage and other stuff yes i would take it back but it breaking bank hardcore

Sure there is , if I put the kind of money in to my Prelude that this MSP is costing me I would have 1 BAD ASS 86 PRELUDE and I know it handles MUCH better than this MSP.

As of now I can take a 20 mph 90 degree turn @ 60 and stay in my lane. BUT I now have the MSP may as well drive it.

well the MSP doesnt really perform up to par with other cars in the niche it's supposed to be targeted at (male's 16-30 who care about looks and performance.. tweakers) like the SRT-4, WRX, theres a few others, but for the price bracket ($15000-18500 now) it's hard to come by a better deal with all the features of the MSP, the GTI 1.8T is a contender and so's the SE-R spec-v but, I think quality wise, we got the short-end of the stick in terms of refinement and R&D, its a great concept, just poorly executed. Ah well, I'm happy, the past 2 years I've had the worst car at my school and was made fun of daily for it, now I have arguably the nicest. I know it's childish but I love going back to my highschool and toasting all the civic/prelude pushers that gave me s*** :-p

If you didn't follow Pumpkin's post Raiz, he totaled one MSP and went out and got another one. As did another forum member.

You my friend, are easily one of the most ignorant people on this board. Your other posts have shown that as well. Unless you have a HEAVILY modified 86 lude, I seriosly doubt that it would outhandle a MSP. The MSP is arguably rivaling the ITR for "king of the hill" of FWD handling. I've never heard of the late 80's preludes even being contenders.

Anybody feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I'd buy it again. It is an incredible little economy car and an outstanding value when you pay ~$16 for it.

I calculated how much money I've spent on my P5 the other day.
about $21,000. Most of you guys know what mods I have.

Here's my train of thought:
A new WRX costs around $24,000. For the 3000 bucks I still have left over, I could get a turbo kit and have 220+WHP...about the same as a WRX. I know I'll never have AWD, but I WILL have a quick, good looking car that's somewhat unique...and just as quick as the Subie on dry pavement.

YES! I'd buy another P5 in a minute.
