dont get altima bro, biggest mistake i've ever made.

Isn't it just a scaled down version of the Maxima with the same great engine. A stock Maxima and a great driver can hit around a 14.5.

I was seriously considering the SRT-4 but Dodge didnt wanna move on the price. I liked the WRX engine setup but not to fond of the looks. I actully went to the Madza dealer to look at the 6, but the salesman showed me the MSP and I fell in love. Where else can you get this kind of car with the suspension and sound system, wheels, alarm, and turbo for this price. Yes the car has some issues but so did my 45K$ Corvette. I am glad I bought the car I did. I get tons of thumbs up and kids in stock Hondas are scared of me LOL
MEAT

I guess I am worried about the repair costs on this car after the warranty is up.

Unless you plan to do a lot of work on it, get an extended warranty to cover it for the duration and plan to sell it when the loan is up.

Chances are by that point you'll be wanting something different anyway(Even with as much as i love my MSP now, I know I've got the attention span of a knat & will probably be deeply in car-lust with something else in 4 years ^___^).

You make an excellent point. Does anybody know what the "extra" warrany costs and details about it?

engine is alright, everything else is crap

hell no, i would not buy it again. the msp is cursed. i'm mad at myself for trading in my 98 sentra for this lemon car. i would rather have bought a civic than this or a mustang since i work for a ford dealer. anyone wanna refinance my car and take it off my hands. please.

I regret like hell buying my Protege. I wouldn't buy the MSP again, and furthermore, I will probably never buy a Mazda again.

If i could buy any car i would still stick with my 03.5

my one good friend owns a MP3 and i took a ride in it......and it was incredible!

but then this other guy picked up a Black Mica and i took a ride and fell in love!

one year later im driving my own!.....Sunlight Silver

Hi David I mean D-LO What do you mean?

"hell no, i would not buy it again. the msp is cursed. i'm mad at myself for trading in my 98 sentra for this lemon car. i would rather have bought a civic than this or a mustang since i work for a ford dealer. anyone wanna refinance my car and take it off my hands. please."

I work with this guy . his 98 sentra was a rolling pile of s*** . Hes 16 and has buyers regret cause he cant afford insurance . and other than his stereo wigging out a couple times and him not knowing he doesnt have reverse syncros he hasnt had anything but great things to say about this car . He doesnt appriciate the world class handling abilities and should have got a slow ass honda. Your a dork david easily lead on by the masses of msp owners just wanting to whine . You make me laugh cant wait to get to work and laugh at you. You should have got the titanium like me and nothing would be wrong with your car.

I already stated I would buy mine again in a heartbeat . But I want to clarify this with the fact that I have been a mechanic and enthusiast for all of my driving life and know a good quality car when I see one. BIG WAKE UP CALL HERE PEOPLE THERE ARE NO PERFECT CARS WITHOUT SQUEKS RATTLES OR LITTLE ISSUES THEY DONT EXIST .GET OVER IT AND ENJOY ONE OF THE WORLDS BEST HANDLING FWD CARS . or not

I would, it took me 4 weeks to decide on what car to buy. I orginally found the MSP at the local Mazda dealer in Fayetteville NC. I kept going back to drive it. I even took my 17 year old nephew and he loved it. It was titanium. After test driving the 350Z and RX8, I still went back for one more test drive.

I finally decided to go get it, got there and it was gone. The salesman told me it was a mistake that they had it. They were not a Mazdaspeed dealer and could not sell it too me.

So I got on the internet and found a dealer and the next day went up and bought it from Raleigh NC. They had several. A couple new 2003 and a couple 2003.5. It took me 4 hours to decide. This was a gift from my husband and he asked them to line all them up and we sat in his truck and the one that stood out the most was the spicy orange. The wheels were lighter in color, I liked the Sparco. I liked the exhast pipe and it was bright. JUst to mention thought, my first comments when pulling up into the parking area was "who in the hell would by a orange car?"

I ate my words and bought it.

Love it besides the problems but like someone else mentioned, all cars have faults and problems and it's up to each individual to what they like and don't like.

No, I don't think I would have bought my MSP. I would seriously look into getting a 2003 WRX, if you negotiate hard (like i did with the MSP), you could probably get one for 21 or 22 and possibly 0% APR (i saw a suby comercial advertising that financing a while back). I would also seriously consider getting an SRT4, the engine is a rock and with 4 years of warranty, you should probably be okay. Juzt my opinion.

Oh, also if you're in the market for a used car, I would also recommend looking into getting a cheap RS integ and slapping on a greddy turbo kit. You could have a really fast car for under 10k.
