Aight i got every thing to change my oil drained it and the Damn Oem Filter will not come off and ive tryed s*** and its like on there like a S.O.B. , can some one please help me wat should i do and wich way u turn it counter clock wise right?????

what are you using to pull thge filter with?? if you have a good oil filter wrench and a piece of pipe for leverage you should be good. lefty loosy righty tighty :)

if all else fails put a screw driver through it. turn it counter clockwise. it will be a little messy but it works.

Ive tryd the F**ing wrench that tightens down didnt work took my pops car and got a "SOket" for the oil filter made for that size didnt come off that Suker is tight. then we tryd a reg wrench and it started to rip the plastic and sort of bend the flter so i stoped. Ughh ima take it to mazda and tell them to do it and for free if they dont ima start kickin ppl in the shins

man it shouldn't be that hard to get off (kill the mazda gorilla) but yea try the screwdriver technique. . sounds like that should work. i used to use the socket oil filter wrench but now i just do hand tight and now i can just take it off iwith my bare hands whenever i do a change. . . .. . .oh man im going to hit 15k this week i gotta check out what i gotta do for maintainance for this car

Another vote for Screwdriver!

(did you put oil on the seal when you put the filter in the first time?)

I always dip my clean finger into the oil and run a bead around the gasket area... helps it from rusting up and seizing like that.

Don't worry about bending it up... sounds like you could have broken it loose with the wrench if you had kept going.

man i don't even remember 3k miles. ..... i think i did that in like a month when i got my car. . ..i used puralator filters for the first two changes (2.40 a piece) and then i switched to the higher end fram filters (the ones with the grippy crap on the end). is there any reason why everyone bashes fram on their oil filters?
