I finally did it too!!

All good arguments but I'm still going ahead with it. I understand your point Chris, but a complete paint job of the front would probably run the same as the 3M job, plus the time the car would be in the shop. And I'm still not convinced that paint job would be good as OEM. The Protection Plus is warrantied for life. Besides I'm not as critical as you guys when it comes to looks for the paint. I'm just tired of having a pitted front.

I called Protection + and spoke to Dave who was very helpful. He said the stuff they use has been purchased by 3M and is being sold by them under another name under 3M. I forget the name right now. I think the dealer is using the same stuff but will confirm tomorrow. If they are, the dealer is $10 cheaper than Protection Plus.
Did you ask about VentureShield stuff?

If the dealer is $10 cheaper, I would go with the dealer.

That's the name. 3M now owns it according to Dave. I will find out tomorrow if the dealer is using the same stuff. the 3M is warrantied for 5 years, Venture is lifetime.

Heard from the dealer today. Expected delivery is Dec 7 give or take a day. I hope I can last the week

Remember to keep cool when you go to pick it up...inspect it as if it were a used car. Check all panels for dents, wheels for scratches, etc. I found a dent on my P5 that I should have got a discount for. I got some free oil changes for all the hassle when I bought the MS6. The sale isn't final until you sign your life away.

awesome! let me know when you pick her up, i'd love to see it!! where's the dealer?

Yup. Did the same thing when I picked up the P5. Will defintely pour over this one.

Dealing with Sentry in Shrewsbury, close to work. Got to place the order for the snows and roadblock with the dealer tomorrow.
another advantage of roadblock at dealer: almost no miles traveled before the installation.

keep us posted.

+1 on chris's suggestion to meticulously inspect. check that the wheels aren't scuffed/curbed. check for any pieces of interior protection plastic still remaining there. ensure squeak-free operation of the PRHT.

Hope I can last the week. Tomorrow I am meeting a another Miata owner who has the Roadster exhaust. See how it sounds.

Thanks Mark.

On another note. I met up with Lee, you guys may remember him from the Cape Cod run a few years ago, driving a laser blue P5.

He let me take his miata out for a run so I could hear the exhaust system he is using. Very nice. Had a great time with him, asked Lee to come to some of the NEPOC meetings next year.

Ordered the exhaust as soon as I got home. Plus some other goodies

Nautlis Horn
