huge problem

Im having major problems with the car. Every time Im under full boost and let off the car has a huge stutter and the engine shuts off!!!! In a 2 mile distance the car shut off three or 4 times. There is no CEL and at a stand still the cars idle is real rough. I would take it to the dealer but Im visting my family and the closest one is about an hour and 1/2 away. I have to go back to work monday! I need help now!!! PLEASE anyone with info please help(nervous)

What mods do you have done to the car? Do you have a BOV? If not, then it sounds like something is wrong with your stock BPV.

Well I have a boost guage,and I had joep mbc but I was able to adjust the boost. Thats when the problem started I know the guage work correctly because Ive been running stock boost at 6 psi. When I took the mbc off the problem continued. The problem with me not using boost is that it is doing it even at a idle.

vaccum leak. replace the boost control hose, $75 from mazda.

Any pics of the hose? I used new ones to connect the wastegate and the mbc to the T in the instructions. I have no clue why a hose would cost $75. And would a vacuum leak cause all that even without the mbc connected? Thanks for the help

i dont have a pic of it but it the whole assembly that connects the wastegate to the bpv. same thing happened to me when i took off of mbc, it would stall like crazy.

When your at idle what is the vac at? When i took off mine it was at 10, it should have been 20. so i replaced the hose, fixed the vac and fixed the stalling.

well I replaced the hose. And its still doing it. I noticed this morning a lot of black s*** coming out of my exhaust and spraying on the ground? DAMN I NEED HELP BIG TIME!!!!!

Time to call up Mazda Roadside assistanace at home, and have them pick up your car and let the mechanic's at Mazda deal with it under warrenty. Take off the Joe P, because you let them look at it.

Smell the black stuff coming out. If its jsut water, its natural for it to do that, if it smells like gas, or oil, or antifreeze, you got issues bro.

Sorry, I wish ya the best of luck, but it does seem that there is a vac leak somewehre.

You may want to check and see if the intake tube came loose from the turbo. I had that problem and it made my car idle bad and have major problems when trying to drive. Took me about 10 feet of driving before i decided to check tho, so i fixed it fast.

check the return line from the cbv to the intake pipe after the maf for small heat cracks my eclipse did that

FIXED!!!!! Sure enough the hose to the BOV had busted loose! It looked like it was just glued on. So I reguled it and Im now running at 9 psi with no problems! Thanks for all the help. It was a huge relief after have gas shooting out of your exhaust to fine it was something simple. Thanks again for all the help

Put a hose clamp on there for good measure. It'll help hold the sucker on, especially if it was just glued there. =)

There is no place to put the hose clamp it blew off on the IC side of the BOV hose. If anyone has any suggestions let me know thanks

Hrm? Any place there is a hose connecting to a fitting, you can usually put a hose clamp... Unless you're talking about where the BOV was pressed into the intake tract, in which case it's just a grommit and the BOV, if it's anything like the RX-7. =) Which it could very well be!
