how fast is the p5 suposed to go?

hey everyone
i was told the p5 had a limiter at 190kph but i had my p5 up to 195 and it still had some go left in it. just wondering if we are not limited here in canada, if not then that is awsome. or my car is messed up

The car is DRAG limited.... no chip or govenor in the engine... drag limited means that it is limited to a top speed by its 'wind resistance'.... in layman terms.

I've always heard that the P5 doesn't have a limiter. The only thing that's going to stop you is drag..... Did you have a tail wind?

no i dont think there was a tail wind, it was a preaty calm night. and it wasa strait flat road.

It is only drag limited but not due to the shape of the car, instead the power.
As such it is not a exact number for how fast it will go as drag conditions can change from one run to another.
Unlike a electronic limiter which will always pretty much keep it at a constant limit.

well i had mine up to 107 this passed saturday..but that was with 2 passengers and my box o' sub's in the back...and windy day..so i prolly couda seen 110maybe if it was not for the people or the box..but hey dosent matter now anyways cause my car isnt here...its at the countyside collision repair...waitin to be looked at to determine totalled status or months of me waitin for it to be fixed,....sorry for me rambling im still in shock! not even 5500 miles yet!!!!!

Understandable man I was in shock when I had the front bumper cover torn off my old car in a wreck. I was not functionable for a few days casue of total shock. Why? Cause the impact of the wreck actually put the car on two wheels, amazing it didn't roll over. And the cop and judge still didn't think the guy was speeding. :mad:
But I sat outside alot just staring at the damage Its a hard time.

no not at all if u calculate it right fuel shut off would be around 147 0r 148 because redline in top gear is 143 mph and then u give a few miles per hour before fuel cuts.

Fastest mine has been was about 120, and I really only slowed down because the road was very curvey (and up and down) which was fun, but there were too many other cars. I haven't tried for a top speed on a more conducive road yet...

Get out of here with that noise. The car is drag limited, not a fuel cutoff issue!!! The car is geared to run a theoretical top speed of 142 at redline in fifth IF it had the power to pull that far. And it doesn't.
