Hi! I recently acquired a Proteg...

Greetings ppl, my name is Julio and I recently traded my accout of Mini Cooper for a 2000 Mazda Proteg, aut tranny. In 2 yrs I have had about 10 cars, e30, Mazda 3, 300C, Mitsu Lancer 09 & Technica 99... I live in Puerto Rico. So I had to get rid of the Mini cause it was a Royal PITA!! And someone offered me the proteg.. I always refer to forums, to gather knowledge and insights. I love spending $$ in the cars making them faster and nicer. So, I did a little research and noticed that from 2001 further the front bumper changes, specially for the redesigned head lamps.. And it looks really nice! So my 1st exterior mod will be doing a front bumper swap. Is this possible? If yes, what modifications needs to be done? Ohh.. It has 92,000 millage what should I be concerned about?

ohh... this is not my car, but this is my front bumper design

so can I do this front bumper swap? or what do you guys recommend.. I am really a noob with this car. thx

there are a whole bunch of threads here about the 99-00 to msp swap. you'll need the fenders, hood, lights, bumper, bumper support / brace, and grill from a 2001-2003 protege. and the fog lights if you want them. they're all a direct fit to the existing frame

If you want to change the front end w/o all the hassle of converting to the 2001+ stuff HERE is another option.
