Hey guys, I'm Brett, new to the forum, obviously.

You guys have a great forum here, with a lot of information! Very useful.

I just bought a 2011 Mazda2 GX in red, and will be picking it up on Tuesday! I think I may opt for the Thule rack with snowboard attachment, thoughts?

I also understand that my model won't be coming with rear speakers, suggestions? (size, brand, etc)

Also, pics to come this week!

I am just getting the rack from the dealer, which is made by Thule, badged by Mazda It looks good though, IMO.

I think the big question is speaker size, and I browsed the forums, but didn't have much luck with that yet..

Have any Audio places around you? You can just take it to them and they have a selection they can go though till they find one that works.

Lightning audio/ rockford fosgate for kick ass sound or just get sony 6" mids for OEM sound. They should be able to make any size fit.

Yes Rockford Fosgate I think will be the brand to go with, as long as I can keep a stock look (no ugly speaker covers sticking out)

Also, no car today. Local dealership sucks, and are making me take time off work to sign the paperwork tomorrow. Jerks.

and are you sure you dont have rear speakers? do you only have 2 speakers? i bet crutchfield would have correct information as to the size of the speakers for replacements in the 2.

There should be speakers in the rear doors.

Base model 2's have no speakers in the rear doors, unfortunately. Crutchfield also has no information about it, I tried

Nice and welcome! I do have to say though, that it would look much better a little lower to the ground....maybe before Mazda comes out with a MS2 or an RX8 replacement we should petition them to get rid of the truck like wheel gap from the factory. lol

Did you end up getting the rack from the dealer? IMO, it's overpriced and you can save a few bucks by just picking up a Thule locally or online.

The OEM ones I took out is 6".

I got a deal on the roof rack/snowboard attachment from the dealer, so I ordered it, it'll be in next week.

Speakers hopefully on Saturday, maybe tint soon too!

Sounds great dude! You should lower that once you have the roof rack and everything else one. I love the look of lowered cars with roof racks

Cool....good to know you got a deal on the rack. I thought about buying one for the wife's 3 thru the dealer...after I saw the price, I said 'no thanks'.
