Headlight Question

I am looking to get a 3s in the next month or so. The only option I really want are the Xenon headlights. I know that means you have to get the sport package and the ABS package too. All the 3's I've seen around my area are all fully loaded when they have the Xenon option. My question is, is it possibe to add the HID kit later on or is that too much trouble?

i dont know how troublesome it is because i havent done it myself but there is a vendor and a how-to and it seemed pertty straight forward. a quick search for HIDs will get it.

You should be able to get a kit on ebay of whatever bulb comes in the 3s. the projectors are in all 3s, so they should look pretty good. Despite what the link says, I wouldn't go 6000k myself. a 4000k to 5000k would be my choice... all the 6000k kits i've seen put a lot of color on the road. lit everything up blue. you can stll get the bluish look to your headlights with a 5000k kit, but they'll put out a whiter light on the road. Mucher nicer for seeing a night.. which is what I go for in a headlight. if you want to get really particuler, do a retro-fit. BUt goodluck with it

why not get the HID and sport/safety package all together? dealers are clearing inventory right now on the 05's since the 06's are coming out in October...you can get a good deal... I bought my 3 fully loaded (with Nav, leather, etc) under invoice ($20K)

I wish my car came with the Xenons! Mine's fully loaded except for the navi and leather yet I dont have any Xenons! I think I got my car before they started those? I know they weren't putting on the 2.3 badges on the cars back when I got my car.

Its easy I got aftermarket HID's did them myself at work... I took a break and went in the parking lot and did them. Took me like 25 mins and that was mostly cause I had to go in and out to get tools I forgot. They look better than the ones that come with the mazda package and cost less than the dealer would want to add to your price. I say go with the aftermarket package and do it your self...

I got it March 29, 2004, the build date is 11/03 tho.
