Go-Kart meet!! Jan. 13th - Delaware

Finally! A Delaware meet! Ok, here is the deal. We will be going to Mid-Atlantic Grand Prix on Saturday, Jan. 13th at 1 PM We have slots for 16 people (two groups of 8). The price is $55. This includes a membership to the raceway, the pre-race information and equipment, 3 full races, plus all of the discounts and benefits of being a member. Here is the list of people signed up to go so far. If you cannot make it, please let me know as soon as possible so that we can find someone else to fill your slot.

I know that this is not the original package that we discussed, but the guy at the raceway told me that this was his standard package for car clubs that meet here. Plus, if you really like it and want to come back, it is much cheaper with the membership...

I would love to come, but $55 is a little too steep for me right now. I'm still recovering from Christmas, my wife's birthday, and my new car payment.

I may come out and watch you fools tear the track up. I've been once - it's a lot of fun. Those karts can move.

well if you are already a member, it wouldnt be the full $55 for you. The guy that set me up was real nice and willing to work with me on setting up the event the way we wanted.

but if you can;t afford it, def come and meet some of the locals

About how long is a "full race"? This sounds like it shall be a blast. Ill have to bring my camcorder along to get some good stuff.

When I went, a full race was approx. 8 laps, but I believe the "Arrive & Drive" races are based on time, not laps. It's been about 8 months since I was there.

I think I will come to meet everyone and hang, and I might drive if it's significantly less considering I already have the membership.

Jay - are we doing anything after the kart racing? Going out to eat, small funrun? I know it wasnt discussed really in the other threads...

We could do a ride after the kart racing up to main street and grab some food/drinks @ grottos... or something similiar?

yeah taht sounds like a good plan... for those who have never been, grottos has $2 25 oz. beers and cheap pizza/bar food, not a bad deal at all. That way we could get as many ppl involved as possible. But I will need at least 8 people, so if you cant come or cant afford the race, please update the list and take ur name off of it

Plus there will be NFL Playoff games & a 2pm Flyers game, so the place should be hopping.
