Fixed the cai problem... Now more problems!

I'll try to snap some cell phone pix for you tomorrow and post them... it would also help if you could take some of you engine bay just so we are clear on how yours looks. I want to make sure I don't see any aftermarket stuff you may not know about that is installed etc...

pull the vac line that goes to your wga off of the tee, and try blowing into it. If air comes out the other end somewhere, your diagphram is bad and you need to replace your wga. I was having stalling issues, idle problems, and questionable boost levels for a while, everyone kept telling me leak leak leak, i just couldn't find it. Saw some people talking about bad wga, sounded like my symptoms... i checked it and sure enough it was leaking, so i spent $60 and got a replacement from ATP and installed it, and the car runs great. Worth a shot for checking out.

Also, if it does leak air, you might make sure its not just a cracked vacuum line so you don't go spending $60 when you don't have to.

ok.. ive been fooling with my intake and making sure i cant find a leak.. and so far i havent! my car seems to be driving better than it was! but my rpms keep droppin and itll drop to where it dies! it sux and i tried checkin my wastegate accuator.. but i couldnt get the hose off.. it seemed(just like all my others) stiff as hell! which makes me think ive gotta leak.. but would someone tell me what size hoses i need to replace all my factory ones with.. thanks!

yeah man i hooked up the injen intake today and i was gaving that exact same problem. are you running an open bypass valve or did you rehook that back up to the intake? for somer reason i had that hose off and the same thing happend. needless to say that when i hooked that hose back up it runs like a champion

I think I said this previously but I used 3/16" and 1/4" fuel line for my replacement hose because it is cloth reinforced. Seems like the nipple on the WGA is a little different size than the nipple on the intake manifold up top. I have a manual boost controller and I used a 3/16" X 3/16" x 1/4" reducing tee to tie them all together... really easy man... and just pull the hell out of the vaccum line attached to the wastegate actuator. It will have a small 90 degree piece in there that you don't need so yank the crap out of it... I've done this on several cars so far and installed a new WGA for a forum member last weekend. Just get like 6 feet of both sizes and use whatever size is the tightest fit for each nipple etc... use a reducing tee if needed like I did...

FWIW, although they are different sizes, i was able to use the same size hose to go from the stock tee to the wga (can't remember what size though). I put a hose clamp on the wga to make sure it was secure, and yanked the hell outta the tee side but the barbs seem to hold it fine.
