Has anyone that's running a lighter rim/tire combo but slightly larger diameter tires noticed any difference in acceleration, i.e. better acceleration from start?

Yes, when you reduce the weight of the wheel/tire combo you can increase acceleration a bit as you are reducing rotational mass. Less mass means easy/quicker to turn the wheels. Also means easier to brake. And the reduced unsprung weight also makes it easier for yours spings/shocks to do their job better.

IIRC, I lost 12 pounds PER WHEEL with 17" and CrossClimate2's.

Obvious harder accel, and the wheels chirp longer with WOT from a stop.
