has anyone found any aftermarket replacements yet??? i keep searching other forums and check the internet at least weekly it seems. would love to get rid of the wheel hop and engine dancing that goes on when i give it some... hopefully we can find something before summer gets here... (hump)

i haven't seen any yet. wheel hop isn't too bad once the tires wear down a little. i have little to none.

Only way I see to get some is to keep pushing these small companies that are willing to make parts for us. I have tried a few places that specialize in engine and tranny mounts and they have all stated that they are not interested in the Mazda3.

lol i said "wear down a little." when i first got my car it wouldn't do anything but hop up and down and now it doesn't hop at all.

You want a solution...Learn to drive it until engine mounts, struts and shocks come out.

Maybe he's talking about "engine hop" not wheel hop. I've noticed that, too. That motor is bouncing around in there like a mexican jumping bean.
^^ yup sorry bout the missunderstanding... and i consider myself a pretty good driver. taken some courses and a lil autox now and then. i am going to a local engine shop next week sometime to see about some mods... maybe i can see if he can pull some sort of engine mount together???... (doubt it but...??)
they didn't want to design anything for the 2003-2004 tiburon 2.0L but we got a patition signed and a GB with 12 people and they started to make the whole kit. so it is possible emails just might not do it... you have to show that people are committed to actually buying it and that there is a market for it

i remember reading something somewhere (i think it was on the mazda website...if i get time i will look it up and post it) but if i do recall the mounts are liquid filled. maybe if we take em out and drain them then insert some other type of meterial to be a lil less forgiving....

NSN Motorsports has already tried filling the motormounts.
The problem with this, is that our motormounts (the side ones at least) are of a compression design. The part that you would be filling up doesn't contribute much (if at all) to the dampening of the vibration for the vehicle. They aren't like the motormounts you would have on the Protege, in which filling them in would greatly harden them up. The only way to get new motormounts for the 3 is to cast entirely new peices.
Our mounts ARE liquid filled, I know this because when we were looking at the mounts with Steve, we discovered a tear in one of mine. I'm going to be heading to the dealership and getting it taken care of eventually.
