cluster problem

Hi i have a mazda 323 base model with a cluster with no rpm gauge, so i recently swapped it with the cluster with rpm but the fuel needle gets stuck at the top i dont know why im thinking because i need to get the right wireing harness for that gauge because my original tank connector has 5 wires and on other models that came with the rpm gauge has 7 wires so i am unsure even reading the wiring diagrams it still leaves me clueless.(mj)

Next time you are in it and driving, smack the side of the dash rather hard and see if it breaks free. My temp guage sticks sometimes too. Also, what year 323 is it? Wiring harness shouldnt matter.

Mine usually sticks to the bottom when its been sitting for over night or longer.

if its sticking to the bottom you are getting false readings going to the computer so its either the coolant temp senser unit is gone or you may have false wiring but thats an oddball case so i would say get a coolant temperature sensor so get the one from your other car and put it on the existing car and see if it changes if it doesnt then you have more to look into

lol, I thought we where helping you. I know my problem, and its just a sticky gauge. It will pop loose when the temp gets hot enough or if I smack the side of my dash hard enough. :D Now, What year is your car?
