Clunk Updates

Well, my 156E's have arrived and i'm going to have them put in on saturday at 1:30. Finally, the wait it over:cool: Good luck to everyone else in receiving their new bushings. Hopefully, this is it

Its gotten so bad that I actually had a dream over night that I found a product on amazon.com that guaranteed to stop the rear swaybay noise on MP3/MSPs. From what I remember, it was a set of greasable bushings :).

Chris

LOL, that is great! Doomer have you gotten the latest bushings yet? I want to get the latest ones but cannot get the ambition to call and educate and argue with a F-ing dealer for 2 days just to get an appointment (ECU flash for MSP was not a smooth experience). So do any Wisconsin dealers know about this yet?

Also, did you ever respond back to Truman (that Mazda engineer) in October or are you going to wait until these new bushings inevitably fail?

F'n Bull crap. All the service managers were called in for a technical meeting and were given a power point presentation on this issue. further more they all have a hand out issued by MCI with the pictures (B/W) of the new bushing.
I guess the service mamager you spoke is an @$$ h.

Hold the phone bud. I went in on Wednesday, took the tech for a spin. He recognized the culprit after hitting the first bump. They then ordered me the E bushings, I had them installed yesterday.
No clunk, car feels solid, tighter at the rear, though it's probably just the lack of noise.
Another test mule on the road.
Props to Gyro Mazda, they have treated me very well. Highly reccomend. I dealt with Bill Kew.

I got the E's put on last weekend; good so far. But the front suspension is creaking more-and-more when the temperature drops... :(

My click is getting really bad too.

Just spoke to my service rep, he's gonna check it out monday and seems very open to all my suggestions. I'll see and keep y'all posted.

God bless this forum (thread) to keep this info flowing. Surely Mazda doesn't give a s*** about service, so its just awsome that you all are motivated enough to get the ball rolling.

THanks again

Ilan

this is true :(

i'm picking up my car monday (engine repair and 156E's)

does changing the front STOP the sqeek for a while? or just it just come back anyway? is there an 'improved' bushing for the front? i mean it fricken sounds like metal on metal!

I tried calling Mazda Canada the other day. My request was that I needed a letter from them to the effect that my warranty would be extended indefinitely until the rear bushing 'issue' was resolved. All I got was them quoting paragraphs out of the warranty book in legal-ese. Has anyone else made any request like this to Mazda ?

At least my rev E bushings are on order at my dealer.

yea i defidently gotta order front and back bushings soon. This cold weather up here is making my car sound ridiculous.

Quick question, I've browsed a few of these clunk threads and haven't found anyone with the P5 saying they have clunk. Does it only affect the sedans?

Sorry, I didn't read every page nor can I search under four letter words. Just a quick yes or no and I'm gone.

No flamee!

it only effects MP3 and Mazdaspeed sedans cause we have the upgraded racing beat suspension set up.

It depends who you talk to. It definitly affects PRIMARILY the MSP and MP3, but my 2000 ES definitely clunked as well. Just nowhere near as bad or often as the MSP. A few other people have said their regular sedans have clunked as well, and 1 service tech that posted in the MSP recently about the clunk said that the problem exists on ALL Mazda vehicles! Take that for what it's worth....
