CAI and winter???

do you guys remove your cold air intakes for the winter season???
i live in chicago, and as you probably know, the winters here can be brutal.
is it possible the snow, and slush might hurt anything, should i just remove the part of the injen intake that goes into the fender and make it a sri?

i live in green bay wi and i plan on making my injen cai into short ram soon- i also have to get some winter shoes...procrastination

I put my stock intake back on for winter just to be safe...

i live in az but we have some pretty brutal monsoons and i have the stock plastics that cover the underneath and i have had no problems
