If anyone is near Buttonwillow this weekend or the 1st weekend of May stop by and say hello. I will be out there both weekends with the Mazda 2 on the track and generally up to no good.

The 1st weekend in may there will be a couple of Mazda 2s running in B-Spec. I hope to not repeat last year and get hit in a race.

I think that mirror shot should be for Eric, he hit me with his passenger side, lol,

Ouch on that video at 9:45...

3 more days until the 2nd half of the ButtonWillow double header race weekends. Somehow I dont think I will be getting 2nd place in Super-Unlimited this weekend.

Well last weekend could have been better for me as I placed second both days. The first day I had a weird shake when I was over 85MPH. What made it a little worse was the right hand corner you enter flat out at 95mph and after a few laps I was lifting to lower the speeds a bit. The right front tire decided to not play nice and started to come apart :(

Back out after changing tires to see if the problem was sorted but it was still there. I was also getting a weird noise out of the front end. I put the car up and did a nut and bolt check over everything and found the right front control arm bolt at the rear was a little loose which did the trick.

Sunday was much better as I was able to get a jump on the start and get into the lead. I lost the lead a lap or two later but kept it really close for 4-5 laps (and set a new track record in the process). Eventually that flat out corner got the best of me and I lifted on one of the laps when the car felt really funny (I didn't feel like going off the track at 95mph into the dirt). After that I spent the rest of my race working on better lines as the first place car had gapped me pretty good.

Next stop Pacific raceways which looks to be the last trip there as the property has been purchased by a real estate developer.

Congrats on the track record (thumb) and good job not being too proud to lift a little bit.

I've seen more than one car roll in that dirt.

Have you been there since they re-paved it? The track has lots of grip. I think I saw 6-7 track records be set last weekend.
