Boost problem

I was wondering if any1 has experienced this: Over the last few days i have been getting serious turbo surge or hesitation when under boost, accompanied by a high pitched whistle that sounds like its coming from the airbox. Has anyone else had this problem?? My Speed is totally stock and has been flashed...

The high pitched whistle has come under debate. Some claim it's normal, some claim it's oil starvation. I think it's fine TBH. To the stock hessitation/surge: welcome back to warmer weather... flash did not take that all away.

Mine does the same thing, I'm flashed with an Injen cai, and it still hesitates. And if you think the "scream" is loud now ,wait until you put an intake on it. I'm guessing the sound is normal, because I hear it all the time when getting on it.

Damn...you would think that Mazda would finally do something right and make a COMPLETE flash to take care of this!!! I dont know if I should take it back to the dealer or not because every time i bring it there 1.they dont fix anything right and 2. Its almost like they f**k more s**t up!!!

i am just noticing the hesitation as well, car now as around 1100 miles on it.... right around 4-5k it just pauses like ... um GO! but 3 -4k feels great. I am not flashed as of yet... i guess wensday we will see what happens! ha

Gentlemen, the hesitation you are seeing along with the whistle sound is very normal. Especially with our car who which has no problem with out a doubt in depositing carbon onto every surface space along the the exhaust system starting in the head all the way to the muffler tip.

This is mearly just carbon deposit onto the turbine wheel. It will continue to build. 80% of turbo cars with incorrect tuning will have this problem. It will eventually maybe in 60k-70k miles of driving require you to remove the GT-25 and dismantle it and do a through cleaning on the turbine side. The compressor side should be clean if you keep up with your intake PM's. (Preventive Maintanence for all you non military types.) If you feel unable to attempt this for whatever reason then you might want to consult the dealer. In fact that might be your best bet in the spririt of warranties.

Believe me if you starve the T-25 you will know it. Its actually hard to do as this is one of the last generations in the GT series. The design itself is quiet efficient in cooling the bearing housing even after shutdown.

Most of you other guys in this thread are seeing the faulty tuning maps of the ecu.

Careful don't let AUTOBOX hear you call it a "GT" he likes to get his drawers in a bunch. (rofl)
Allthough several magazines have referred to it as a GT series or make the claim that is has a GT center section. But yeah I agree according to Mazda you can turn the motor off after a hard run and the oil/water will heat siphon through the turbo until it is cool.

sounds like you're low on boost fluid. your local autoparts store should sell it. filling up is quite easy; remove your air filter and pour in the boost fluid. re-attach your air filter, start 'er up and enjoy.

My car now has 11K on the clock, and it has had that "scream" and hicup @ 4000 rpm since day one (the car is flashed).

Three days ago I put on a custom 2.5" catback (which I made quiter inside the car than the stock system  ) and somthing strange happend, the "scream" is gone (dunno) but the hicup is still there.

another sympton of low boost fluid. the "scream" is created when the fluid boils(natural). think of it as a tea pot on a hot stove, whistling; same idea here.

i think you have a leak in your turbo.

so if we have this problem what exactly do we do about it im tired of it
it boggs totally down at 3K and stuters very baddly at 5K and has the hidious whistle sound what do i do
