Blown engine & turbo

The reason he's writing is because they car should of never needed a new engine in the first place, and like most msp's its probably not the first problem he's had with it. Id be ******* pissed if I paid 20k for a car, for it to blow up on me in less than 20k miles. The msp is a problem filled car, and mazda doesn't really seem to give a s***.

I TOTALLY AGREE with this statement!
No car should have as many mechanical issues and noises as the the MSP has.

And Twisted,Your motor prob is identical to what happened to mine! The casting left in the motor broke and went through the engine and turbo just as yours did! It trashed everything in the rotating assbly!
It took the dealer about 3 weeks as well to get me a new motor and turbo put on mine. What makes it worse it the fact that mine happened at 3800 miles!
I have no major BEEF with the way that Mazda addressed the issue on my motor,BUT I do have BEEF with thte dealership that scratched up my engine bay and core support changing the motor and then telling basically that "s*** HAPPENS" and never offered to fix it even after my complaint.I even wrote to Mazda about it and let them know about my dis-satisfaction with the dealership in that regard and NEVER heard back from MAZDA!
What a crock!I have scratched paint on a new car and was told to deal with it!
I would be willing to file any kind of complaint with you agaist the general treatment from the MAZDA Corp. as a whole in regards to the MSP.
I will say that I have learned to deal with the MSP's so called "QUIRKS" ,but I still think it is total B.S.

Matt:rolleyes:

i'll say it again. this is the reason that i'm writing my letter and addressing it to various organizations. once completed and i start to hear back from whoever whether it be Mazda NA, Better Business Beureu(sp) or the Attorney General's office i will post my letter and whatever i get in regards to my complaint. i don't know what will come of this if anything but i do know i DO NOT WANT MY CAR!

All these problems are scaring the living s**** out of me. I'm in the market for a new car,(wife and I have a child on the way) . We both have Honda Civics, hers is a LX mine is an Si. I want b00st, but man, is it just CERTAIN MSPs or ALL that have these similar problems?
My car has been problem free except the clunk, which came on after 20k miles. I love it and have zero complaints. I never really even had the hesitation. It does run smoother now with the flash but all in all a great little car.
My wife has a 2 yr old PR-5 with over 40k miles on it and all we have had to do is change the oil regularly/ air filter and we just needed to get some tires for it to replace the stock Dunlops.
Both so far have been affordable, low maintenance, fun to drive vehicles. We have three kids 16,11, and 3 we have no trouble fitting them all in there. Of course my oldest gets a truck soon so it's one less to fit :D
The MSP for most people just seems to be the one with a few more problems.
If you want one get it as cheap as possible, get the longest reasonably priced warranty, and don't mod it at all then no matter what you'll be covered.
Mazda doesnt necessarily suck it's the dealers who seem to be the main problem. They are for the most part blood sucking, swindler, bastards!

Anyone who thinks this car has an excessive amount of problems needs to surf the SVT section of Focaljet, b15sentra.net or any of the VWVortex forums. You'll find laundry lists of problems for any other competitive car.

You're not writing this letter with ARSE are you....
I can see Mazda NA now, "Hey this guy's penmanship sucks and this letter kinda smells like ass?"

jeckel- let us know what they do about your warranty and how the issue comes along. I've had my turbo replaced (not as serious as your problems) and so far so good.

MP5T- I think you missed the point. Jeckel isn't suing or pursing mazda legally in any way. What he is doing is using the proper avenues to report a problematic experience with a car to help out other consumers. This is the very purpose of the agencies he has or intends to contact. I'm sure you have the equivelent in America Jr.

Well if you were trying insult me with your post...you succeeded.

:wtf:

I understand the original point of the agencies...It just seemd like he was going on a witch hunt(sad1).

Just because we speak the same language, doesn't give you the right to compare your dictatorship to my country.

dont feel bad man 40k and my pistons went out......jess the luck of the draw man. and i havent had my spicy for the past 3 weeks....

no witch hunt. just making my voise heard to the right people. i'm certainly not taking anybody to court over this. pleasant thought but no, well yet atleast.

14lbs-i suggest you do something similar to what i'm doing. contact everybody you can, jump on that soapbox and be heard. this kind of s*** shouldn't happen!

and this is the exact reason i've got a 2 paged typed complaint letter that i'm working on thats not yet finished that'll be on its way to mazda and the BBB and probably the attorney general.

It sucks your car broke, but what's to complain about. Mazda towed your car free, gave you a renter and fixed it free. What is it they didn't do right?
