Blown engine & turbo

Well if you were trying insult me with your post...you succeeded.

:wtf:

I understand the original point of the agencies...It just seemd like he was going on a witch hunt(sad1).

Free Kevin! (canada) (dunno) (usa)

Just because we speak the same language, doesn't give you the right to compare your dictatorship to my country.

It was less intended for insult, and more intended for humor. I was simply clarifying Jeckel's intent which was to use the proper agencies as they were intended but you choose this thread to point out how stupid American culture can be. Do you expect to voice your opinion and take jabs but not recieve the same in return?

WAY TO GO!!! Lets all lower our resale a little bit more! ******* stupid.

I hate this mindset. So what should people do? Just stay quiet about problems for the greater good? Whatever, if my car falls apart and it's not my fault I'm going to raise hell because it's about the only way change takes place. The reason the clunk and the hesitation have even been partly addressed is because of people who were willing to speak up.

I believe I can hear the call of the "Great Candian Cooch Whine."
It's kinda sounds like the wail of a menstrating yak followed by a flapping sound. They are quite rare as they are very thin skinned and prone to die at the slightess bit of provication.

Also in today's post :
Props to the anti Hesitaters. All hail...

Canadian Cooch whine.....is that different than my personal favorite....?Canadain Cootchie Wine"?

if not then pour me a glass; momma is out of town and daddy is thirsty!!

eww

i wonder how long "that" wine had to ferment

Do you honestly think those things were fixed becaue someone complained? No, its because people brought their car in for warranty work numerous times and Mazda had to develop a better peice so they would stop losing money.

Because people voiced this problem we learned about it and people took the time to point out the issue to other owners and service departments (although they usually claimed it was a "characteristic of the car"). If no one discussed the issue or turned their back to it nothing would have been done period. So anytime problems with the car are brought up I could care less if it lowers the value of the car if in the end if it makes the car more driveable. If you purchased this car as an investment you coudln't have bought a worse car. If you are looking for high resale a Honda or German import is a much better car to own.

Damn dude could you be any more full of yourself?
Yes, it was you the mighty ASCE certified Mazda Tech that saved the world from the hesitation. Behold your all encompassing magnificence and power.
No, it had nothing to do with anyone contacting Mazda over and over and over again it was all in the hands of the mighty Tech without whom not one of us would ever have the ability to understand anything to do with the horribly complicated devices know as automobiles.

Oh thanky so much for saving us Massa Tech We is all too stupid to understand anythin, or to affect a change by our lonesome.

my car is starting to make some weird ass noises as well. Noticed that my boost/vacuum guage used to sit at 0 when the car was turned off, now it sits just below 1psi of boost (guage got ****** up???) When I get on my car every here and there, turbo sounds okay, but if I get on it from 1st-3rd then let off, shift into 4th, cruise for a mile or so, then accellerate...it sounds like my turbo is pushing some massive air. Guage still reads 7psi max at boost. :wtf: Can't tell if it is just in my head, my snow tires making that noise when I accellerate, or my turbo is ******! Anyone care to comment? Please:D

Can I Spoon You??

It would be nice if a company decided to make bolt on upgraded "Crate" motors for Mazda like "Spoon" is for Honda.

I think ion performance has crate motors, I remember them mentioning them in another thread.

yes, iON has mentioned them, but i doubt they are built similar to Spoon/JUN/Mugen engines where the cams, manifolds etc have all been modified. unfortunately it sounds like iON's motors only have beefier forged rods and pistons.

they REALLY need to get a website up.

What is the mooing sound on acceleration? boost leak?

I dont hear mine unless I slowly get on it and I'm not in boost while it does that.

**I was wondering how many engines have blown so far? How many blown engines have we all heard of so far?**
I should have updated everyone sooner on my situation. Here it is though, I blew my engine over the holiday. I have had mine in the shop since the first week I bought it complaining of coolant leaks, hesitation, grinding noises, etc. It was revving high, and so we decided to take it to a better dealership (Browning in Cerritos), since Don Kott (Carson) lost its franchise. (Go figure, the Pre-Delivery inspection was done terribly, they didn't even fill my washer fluid or check that leak in the coolant, or clean the black sticky stuff from my paint) At any rate, the car died on the way to Browning, and had to be towed there. A clutch, throw out bearing, some radiator hoses, and coolant hoses all were replaced, and the flywheel resurfaced. The car went in on a Monday, I got it back Thursday night. Friday night, I drove from California to Las Vegas (about 4 hours). With average highway speeds, the engine blew a hole in the rod. I have never taken my car to the track or even street raced anyone. So there is no way they can say it was customer abuse. They are saying some ground straps were disconnected, and my gauges and oil cap were "modifications" that may have changed settings. BS...Anyone have any input, has anyone been able to overcome these problems?

That sucks man. I would blow up if I went threw that crap with a dealership.

On another note, Jim a MSP owner in tampa, messed his turbo and motor up.

Here is my account of Jim's misfourtunes...First things first. Jim's MBC fell apart because he messed with it after I installed it and failed to tighten it properly..it isnt that hard to tighten something is it? Either way Jim manned up and admitted his mistake, I told him to send it back and / or get a new piece from Joe P., Jim did'nt. Jim instead put a nut there and could not change his boost from 15 psi, seriously no matter how much you moved the bolt in the MBC nothing would affect boost. So while leaving a party, slightly intoxicated, Jim put it in 3rd instead of 5th on the interstate while at full throttle. I believe this is what started off the problems for him.

After that intoxicatingly weird occasion I noticed a slight hint of burnt oil. Upon inspection I saw that there was some oil coming from his muffler...(I am a automotive technician by the way and know the difference between dew mixed carbon and oil). As well oil was coming from the silicon couplings on Jim's Injen. I immediatly knew it had to be the turbine shaft seal or piston ring faliure.

Jim in his infinite wisdom continued to drive due to no other transportation. Well about 2 weeks after the initial damage and Jim's constant beating on the car. The CEL came on, check engine light, and guess what the code was? Cylinder 2 misfire. I finally convinced Jim to take his car to the dealership. Despite what I said he went to the gayest dealership in Tampa (courtesy). Jim said upon immediate arrival the service advisor diagnosed his car as needing a turbo, Jim mentioned nothing of the check engine light to him. I don't know why but... The dealership I work at never allows a service advisor to diagnose a car, they are not certified and have no automotive experience or training. There is Mazda for you.

Either way his car also needed a new motor. Which they installed when Jim went back a few days later. Stupid Mazda.

Hope you guys are more informed because my hands seriously hurt. - Chris
