oops Kpa, ill let that disk run again 2nite. thx for the help. im downloading that link now.

i'm going to bet i need another fresh install of windows- it all started after i downloaded a crack. the crack never had any viruses or spyware, but its questionable. btw, the cracked program is uninstalled, yet the problem continues. so if anything, it hid in explrer.exe

you might as well.. I do it at least once a year... sometimes 3 times. its easy with 4 HD's

i'm leaning towards its windows, not the CPU. I just have been running some pretty heavy stuff, and the fan was really working hard. now its quiet since i've stopped those apps.

damn windows.
argh, now i have to backup my mail and all that s*** :(

believe me...it's worth the effort. there isn't that much like a fresh version of windows. its so fast. but then, as usual, it slows down in like 2-3 months

I just bought an external hd for my laptop so i can put everything on that and reinstall windows without much effort. very conveinent.

cant- school uses winxp. all my apps are winxp.

i would, but my crutial apps are winxp :(
like dreamweaver, etc.
