My guess is that he's comparing the old one he's taking off to the new one he is putting on.

Pretty much, I got the spearco from a buddy for cheap but it won't fit as it is like 9" tall. At least it won't fit without some hacking, which I don't want to do. If someone wants it, I'd love to get it out of my way.

Ken, thanks for the update! I totally forgot you can get Mazda parts. I'll let you know what I need next time, as I'm sure it won't be long before I do need something...

Two weeks until the fun begins!

My Mazda stuff arrived the other day, just need to double check that it is all there.

Two questions:
What is the best way to remove the studs on the turbo stuffs? I don't want to break them, which I'm prone to doing.
Secondly, can you clock the turbo so the outlet is facing down? My IC piping is from a MAM sleeper kit which is like that... it'd be nicer, maybe. I'm concerned that the oil inlet would be on the bottom, oil outlet on top, lol. Can't be good.

Yeah you can just remove some bolts on the compressor and clock it down. It won't move the center cartridge at all, so no worries about oil lines.

Badass! Maybe I won't even need my JDM EBAY PIPES!!, for i/c piping at least. (2thumbs)

yeah dude thats pretty exciting... about the build and everything. Im excited just waiting for everything to get under way. With all the parts you have and are getting... the car is gonna be pretty sweet... let me know how everything goes.. later.

Thanks D_Roc7822. You should take a voyage into Iowa for an autocross sometime and meet up!

Setback today unfortunately :( Corksport downpipes are delayed until 4/2 at the soonest. That does me no good

Ordered more stuff from Summit, just fittings and junk. I got the necessary taps for the EGT and oil return line; NAPA rules. I also bought an ECU extension thing that ought to help make the ECU install a little less frightening. Depending how things work out, maybe I'll try the ECU out on the car while it is NA. It'd be interesting, that is for sure.

Still super bummed on the downpipes... I haven't heard about the intake manifold yet. That is less of an issue if it is late though, as it can be installed separately without issue. It'd just be nice to do it while I have all this time scheduled off. We'll see what happens.

that's what i plan on doing until i get an lsd to handle the extra torque from the turbo. i just need the temps about freezing as it's my daily driver. installing it now might also help to easy the pain if you get delayed awhile waiting for yor downpipe.

I'm getting so desperate that the GHL downpipe/midpipe for $800 isn't looking too bad. I mean, it is a sexy piece... :D

Broke down and ordered the GHL pipe. And a DGM grille from a member here. Received the ECU dongle too.

Goodbye money! I guess I'll have to put off buying new wheels and tires a little longer. It'll be lolz driving on these old-ish stock sized ASXs. hehe. Maybe I'll run the R-comps a little extra, just for tractions sake :D

Isnt the corksport downpipe a lil less expensive?

Yep, a couple hundred less. But it is backordered until at least 4/2. This pipe looks real nice though, 3" pipe and whatnot.

That reminds me! If you are still in need of an S-pipe, I'll probably be selling mine sometime next week along with some of the gaskets and stuff that you need with it. I can send you a PM when I receive my new pipe.

I just told a guy a would buy his but send me that PM anyway when you get the new one and we'll see... I might just get both and sell the one I like less.

I got my corksport for 250, the GHL is a huuugely more expensive downpipe but man is it nice :D all of my exhaust is 2.5" though so I didn't want a 3" downpipe.
