I put in the request for my days off, March 11-18th. Now I'm just finishing up ordering the parts I need to do the install. The last little bit I'm going over are the parts from Mazda, checkit:

  • 000088C17 Turbine inlet gasket $11.36 Qty 1
  • 000088C16 Exhaust/turbo stud $5.28 Qty 4
  • 9YB100801 Nut $2.20 Qty 5
  • 000088C19 Turbine outlet gasket $20.36 Qty 1
  • 000088C20 S-J pipe studs $7.56 Qty 3
  • JE1040355 Nut $4.16 Qty 3
  • KL1940450 Donut gasket $6.30 Qty 1
  • FS0113460A Exhaust manifold gasket $9.48 Qty 1
  • 000088C67 Check valve canister $11.08 Qty 1
  • 992830800 Hose clamp $1.08 Qty 8
  • 992830900 Hose clamp $1.08 Qty 1
  • 000088C68 Clamp $.32 Qty 1
  • 000088C69 Clamp $.44 Qty 1
  • JE2613890 Millenia PCV $19.80 Qty 1
  • BP4840581A Seal ring $13.60 Qty 1 *removed
Total: just shy of $170

I can't find the gasket that goes in between the J and S pipe... and also I can't figure out what the heck the Seal Ring is, haha. I just saved it in a text file but have no clue what it is. Also, I assume the prices for the studs and stuff are for one, not a set, correct? :(

This is the last of the stuff to be ordered. Today I ordered an AWR oil pan and ProtegeGarage intake manifold, and a Function 7 oil drain flange.

Parts I have:
  • MSP exhaust manifold and turbo
  • MSP bypass valve
  • Corksport intercooler (24x6x3.5)
  • Mircotech LT8s
  • MAM sleeper IC pipes
  • HKS SSQV blow off valve (old style)
  • AEM wideband gauge
  • Turbosmart MBC
  • McMaster DIY vacuum block
  • Instrument bezel with two gauge holders
  • 2 12" electric cooling fans
  • Prosport gauges (boost, oil pressure, EGT)
  • Extra intercooler pipes, couplers, and clamps
  • AWR oil pan
  • A bunch of fittings and lines, and lubes baby!
  • Mazda gaskets etc
  • Function7 drain flange
  • GHL 3" down/mid-pipe
  • Corksport downpipes *cancelled
  • ProtegeGarage intake manifold

And lastly, junk on/in the car:

Suspension and brakes
  • JIC FLT-A1 coilovers with camber plates, camber bolts in rear
  • AWR 21.5mm rear sway bar w/ adj. endlinks
  • AWR front & rear motor mounts, side inserts
  • Corksport rear strut bar
  • Stainless steel brake and clutch lines
  • Axxis Ultimate pads in front, Rotora plain jane rotors
  • 15x7 Rota Slipstreams with 225/50/15 Kumho V700s for autox/track

Engine, transmission and exhaust
  • OBX header (will sell after install)
  • MAM 2.5" catted midpipe
  • Magnaflow cat-back exhaust
  • Injen cold-air intake (will sell after)
  • Apexi air filter
  • ACT Street clutch, Fidanza 7lb flywheel
  • Mazdaspeed Protege LSD

Phew, this post is giant! Anyways, I figured I'd throw this out there because I enjoyed reading other people's threads and it is a good way to track stuff. Oh, and I can harass you guys for help :D

Once I recover from my impending massive debt, I want to get some new wheels for non-winter driving. Probably some 16x7 Enkei RPF1s or Rota Sub-Zeros, with some sticky icky tires. Then either a bigger catback or a custom side exit exhaust...

I'll post some pictures of the toys awaiting to be installed.

Haha... Good luck!
My build is the week right after yours, I start as soon as I come back from Sebring so 18th or 19th and I have to be done by the 25th cause I have to get to class on the 26th.

PS: Would you happen to have a more detailed parts list you could email me?

Thanks man. The Microtech is the part that has me worried the most and why I have so much time off.

What parts are you specifically looking for? Here are some good posts to check out, if you haven't already:

Yes, the prices are for one only. I found that out the hard way, too.
The gasket you're needing: KL19-40-450

How did you know that was what I was looking for?
Thanks a lot!

I have the same worry with my MPI... but right now all I can think of is getting all the parts I'll need. If I dont and I'm unable to finish the install/build during that week, I have to wait till summer to try again.

  • BP4840581A Seal ring $13.60 Qty 1
looks like that's the donut gasket for the J-pipe to mid-pipe

Unless you've upgraded to a exhaust header, your stock j-pipe will bolt up to the stock MSP s-pipe

Arg, expensive bolts. Thanks for the gasket number.

lol, no problem. I've had most of this stuff for months, so I've just been bookmarking random crap.

Welcome (in advance) to "The Dark Side". :)
Can't wait man!!! It's all I think about now... (drive2)

Thekid760, just be prepared to spend a lot of money (eekdance)

boostdprotegelx, you and me both man! If I hadn't seen all these other folks like yourself doing it, I probably would have scrapped the project.

Cool. I'll be running stock MSP manifold with Corksport downpipes. It looks like I'm almost ready to put in this final order and then all that is left is waiting. Well that and go to a shop to have my coolant lines made, and buy whatever misc stuff I'll need but I'm sure of that will have to wait until the actual install.

corksport downpipe comes with a donut gasket for the end of the J pipe (the stock one won't fit). the stock gasket for between the s and j will work on the corksport, but it's not ideal.. the hole in the middle of it is obviously smaller than the piping on both sides, so it'll cause exhaust flow turbulence. I've been running without that gasket in for a month now, and yeah it has an exhaust leak until the car warms up but it's tolerable until I mod the stock gasket or hear back from corksport about which gasket fits.

good luck with your build! it's so fun :)

Thanks for that info. Maybe I can dremel that gasket out or something. Post your results if and when you hear from Corksport!

w00t Prosport gauges shipped today, hopefully I'll have them by the end of the week. Waiting is the hardest part :(

I received my ProSport gauges and my eBay mad-JDM! intercooler pipes yesterday. w00t!

Last of the parts ordered from OnlineMazdaParts.com, hooray! Just need to get the lines made up but that can be done during install time. And spark plugs, but I'll get those locally. Anyone have a 626 valve cover with cam position sensor they want to give me? :D
