Another Engine goes Boom

This statement is 100% true.It does not alter the power output any more than driving the car in the freezing temps of winter. You are just running more efficiently all of the time.I am getting ready to fab up a Sidemount IC for the stock location because heat soak is owning me this year.I have never had as bad of hesitation from heat soak as I have already had this year at temps only around 75 degrees.

ever check your a/f ratio's after installing a fmic, and im talking about on a wideband not a narrowband.

Mazda might have let you go last time(with the mods) because it was something small that was getting replace, and knew in their heads if you come back with major problems they can blame it on your mods, just something to think about...
I would hope that they dont think like that. Plus like i said this is too ironic. Im just waiting for 8am to roll around to make this call.

wait, so you took your car into the dealership with mods? Ok, you are sunk.

I am calling it right now. I hate to be a bearer of bad news but i dont see mazda replacing your modded engine.

If he is running stock boost it will not matter.Like I said, you change nothing but the density of the air.The same thing happens to air when it get freezing outside. In that case,I will dyno my car outside in the winter and check the A/F ratio vs inside in the steaming summer.I am sure the differences would be almost identical if not worse on a stock set-up in the winter for that matter.
Matt
Think about it?

well we don't know whats wrong yet either, if you do need a new motor, i highly doubt they will throw in a free one because you are modded, there's a difference between a new engine and a new ecu(money wise)

They did $1700 worth of parts/labor with them on there last time. I havent taken my car to the dealer yet and im not swapping parts because they already know about them.

This is probably true as well. You are gonna have to fight with this one.But with all of the problems we are having with these cars you could also be worried if you were Mazda of a Large group getting together and filing a class action type lawsuit.*hint-hint*

well we will see i guess. But im gonna be a thorn in their side if that is their answer. I would rather pay a lawyer with my money than them to fix a part that faultered. I dont care what people say about mods.....These mods didnt cause this and im not gonna listen to them say they did. Anyone with minimal car knowledge knows it. And nobody start trying to justify it cuz i dont need that crap right now.

Im up for it. This is a joke.

yea we knew the ic didn't cause it, but that might not be what mazda implies, and if you plan on going against mazda with a lawyer, i hope you got alot of money =)

YOu may be joking but it has seriously crossed my mind.Just the clunk alone is enough to get them into court for. They re-used a suspension set-up that they knew whas faulty from the get go.That right there puts Mazda in the wrong. They should have worked harder to get it fixed before releasing this car. They did have two years to try to correct the problem after the MP3 and before the MSP was released.

I was saying this whole situation is a joke... I agree with taking action..

Its amazing how a limited production car has so many damn problems

i hope you didnt sign an arbitration agreement. Because if you did you cant take them to court. It will cost you 3500 in arbitration fees alone if you did sign that agreement.

Any repair over 2K the dealer has to get mazda regional involved. The regional rep has to ok the work if it is over 2K worth. Beleive me, if the regional rep sees mods on your car, or talks to the service manager and he tells him that you had mods on, you are SOL.

Could be mazdas fault, but you went against the rules. You modded and they can **** you no matter what.

If you signed an arbitration agreement, you might as well give up now. Save the money for the lawyer etc and just build your motor.

If it needs to come to that,I am in.I am sure there are quite few that would not have a problem joining as well.I bet there would be at least a couple of hundred MSP owners that would love to see MAzda do something for us and all of the hassles we have to go through with a brand new car.

How many miles is on your car??

Can people stop telling the poor guy about Mazda not paying for the engine?? I think there is enough of replies already...
