I would not buy a speed, just like to look around and they seem to have more selection than others. My local dealer sold 1 mp3 and has not even had a speed. The first time I saw one in t-town was about 7 months ago, and he was down from Birmingham First thing that caught my eye was the shifter

mazda is not well represented in alabama. I'd like to invite you guys to the RX-7 club of Alabama. They are rotary guys, but they've welcomed me even though I'm still in the Proto-geek.

Ok guys time to bump this thread back up for the Bama folk to see. I'm going to tr to spearhead a campaign to get all of the protege/various other mazda owners together maybe once a month if not sooner. I'm getting 3-4 people interested in going to Bama Drag / Lassiter Mountain on saturdays. I know Zach and Minus are pretty far away, but if we get a serious following together we can set up something lke a statewide meet possibly either in b'ham or montgomery....something central to everyone. PM me guys with any ideas or comments. It's time for us to get this underway....

Well, not much to say other than what I've stated. I'm trying to find a central location for everyone in the state to get together and have a meet/bbq/klan meeting. I'm good friends with the owners of Bama Drag and they mentioned I should get some freinds together and I could have the track on saturday mornings until about 3-4pm....after that we could hang around, watch the big boys race and at 10:30pm they start running "midnight madness". This is for the street cars and there's a big turnout. He didn't mention me having to pay for anything but I'll see what I can work out. I will need to get as many people as possible to attend though. this can be any of your friends that wanna race or watch....the more people we have show up the better we'll be. I'd like to have a strong mazda showing so we can get some pictures and some comparative driving!! I plan on showcasing my new cams, exhaust and drag set-up then so it won't be for several weeks.

if anyone from the SE region wants to make it they are more than welcome. I know there is a big GA group. PM me for my contact info.

not if we plan on "renting" the drag strip. The only time I can have it is saturday during the day or saturday from 10:30pm to 2am.....on sunday it's pro-stock all day and then junior dragster in the afternoon.

I'm taking notes of how many people are ATTENDING...racing, showing, attending matters not. I'm not sure of prices, but I don't see why it would be any more than $10 per person. That's a steal anyway for a half day of renting the track. I'd like at least $50 people signed up before talking with them so I can tell them I can get at least 50. Pops, the money-taker asked me when I was bringing my "crew" up to have a track day during the day....this would be awesome because I can get a friend to video tape the racing and so forth....it would be sweet.

We're thinking about something in Central AL, Birmingham region. The next lower track is Montgomery Speedway and that's way far for the huntsville guys. I was thinking at New Bama Drag in Jasper. I know the owners and they infact asked me when I was bringing my "crew" down to have a meet or a show here. I'm going to talk with them more tonight when I go out racing to find out some details. I'd like at least 30 (mazdA)people in total. We can invite anyone we want. We will probably have to do that just to fill the place up, but I'd like to have a large mazda crowd for picture taking and so forth.

I'm looking to set a date in stone yet until we hear from more interested parties, but due to my current work/travel schedule it will be several weeks away. Possibly end of march. Expect about $10/per person and there will be bathrooms (dont plan on using them) and a concession stand. I'll find out if it will be open for this meet. If not We'll bring out some smokers and smoke up some BBQ.

Someone needs to go and link us on the GA thread. Those guys aren't too far away and they would probably drive over this way to do some actual racing as opposed to sitting in a parking lot.

dude, a ricer isn't someone who won't race....a ricer is someone who thinks "F&F" changed their life.

I just don't want a bunch of kids there who are acting the "fool". If your manager has a 300hp integra he BETTER bring it up there. Can he drive it?? I'd like to see it.
