AFC-SplitSecond PSC1 Map Library

Can someone sort of walk me through of how to load a map? I have it downloaded onto my computer, and I have connected to my ECU.. when I go into Fuel Maps it will allow me to read from ECU and write to ECU.. but I don't see anywhere to load a map.
When you "write to ECU" you are loading the current map up to the AFC. For example. You start up the R4 software and go file -> load -> supermap. Now the supermap is loaded in the R4 software and here is where you would make changes if necessary. With the map loaded, connect to the ECU - you're computer is now connected to the AFC module in your car (it IS NOT connected to your ECU). Now you have two options: read from ECU and write to ECU. Read from ECU does just that - it reads the current map loaded into the AFC and displays it in the R4 software. I rarely ever do this because if you have a new map loaded in the R4 program this will overwrite everything. The other option, write to ECU is what you want to use. This function loads whatever you have entered into map A (V1 and V2) and map B (V3 only) to the AFC module. Once this is done you have now "loaded" a new map to the AFC and whatever changes you made will be experienced while driving.

I don't have the "Load" option in my File menu.

I clicked on "Compact Database" which allowed me to "open" a file, but nothing happened when I selected the file from the browse box and clicked "open."

I went to the Maps, and it still shows the one that I pulled from the AFC loaded, so I don't know how to tell if the map I "opened" is going to be the one written to the ECU. I don't want to "write to ECU" and not have a map on it at all.

hi, i was wondering if theres a map out there me?
CAI, hard pipes, custom msp smic, flashed ECU, and an exhaust cut-out
any help is much appreciated! (cheers)

yea everytime i load that supermap file it doesnt do anything it starts aat 15psi
which...is pointless

if anyone has the real superstock hook me uppppp!!

The map is not the problem, one of your settings is incorrect under either system or outputs. I can't remember which setting, though. However, why don't you download the supermap on the first page/first post of this thread and load it, it should be good.

It's that bad eh? What 440cc map did you try? What about lowering the trigger point in the settings to like -1vac or more instead of the usual 1psi starting point?

Ya, non of the current 440cc maps alter the out of boost tables, so the ecu has to compensate a great amount.

The supermap will be fine.

FYI, this has been discussed many times throughout this thread. You guys need to read read and read if you want to know more.

Take care.

+1 There's so much information in this thread. Also, there is no perfect, pre-made map for your mods! Every car is slightly different and most people have slightly different mods so it is unlikely that anyone else's map is perfect for you. Just start with the supermap and work from there. That's the best, and safest way.

thats...what ive done. lol ill try again though

If over pressure signals when the afc will take over,

If your cell values on the your map start changing at 2psi for an example, would you set over pressure to 2 activating the programm?

Also, im starting to get this tuning process and have read quite a bit, however im still not getting there settings

I attached what im looking at...

I believe the Over pressure setting is one point behind of the map. If you set it to 2, the AFC will start altering the map at 3psi.

For those interested, I got myself a P5 ecu. Now that I have the OBDII interface with data logging capabilities, I can create a solid 440cc map. It should be very simple to tune the p5 ecu, as all I'd have to do is remove fuel throughout with the 440cc in a linear form. My stock injectors are maxed out right now at around 9psi with this 30 deg weather. I've tried adding more fuel, but the car started boost cutting. The AFRs are in the very high 12s between 6k-6.5k rpm with the afc map set to no change in that area.
I'd be interested as I still have my P5 ECU lying around somewhere. The 440s are an absolute must for the P5 sedan as you'll start maxxing out the MAF voltage to the ECU around 8 psi. The timing outside of boost should be nice though.

those are not used for our application as far as i know.

im going to assume then that noone knows that those outputs mean..because that didnt even come close to answering my question lol what are the values what do they mean?
