Hey guys!!

Name's Tom Im new to the Forums!!

2003 P5

I did a search and figure its the abs sensor!! But i took it to my buddy's Shop and scaned it and no codes? Is there a way to jump a wire or somthing to find the codes? IS this a common problem? Front or rear sensor? Please let me know. just went off waranty about 4000km ago

Thansk guys

You're being very vague. Give us some specifics. Did a light come on? When? Under what conditions? Did you try the search function at all?

Some people report that low brake fluid can trigger a light.

Fluid is fine!! ABS light and brake light have come on and stayed on!! Took the wheels off and cleaned the rings and the sensors. still no help So thats why i was asking. I have no snow where i so its not dirty.. The light came on about a couple months ago. Washed the wheels really good at a carwash. and it went away.. Now its on for about the last week. Not on when i start the acr but as soon as i start to go they come on..

starting to think its a wire problem?? Or electrical? The light never came on today on the way to work or home? Seems like only when its wet out? Going to try to spray the front wheels and wheel wells and see if i can get it to come on. If not then i will try the back and see? Maybe then i can trace to see if its a frayed wire or somthing?

Is there anyone on here that know how to diagnose this ABS problem ? I dont want to bring it at the dealer. Im sure there is a way I can figure out which sensor is out.

Subscribing, I've been having an issue with my ABS light staying on after a brake change. It goes off if I restart the car.

If both lights (ebrake and abs) come on then it is 99.9% going to be one of the sensors is bad. A search reveals several people with this problem. You just have to find out which sensor it is. If the light comes on, find a place to read the code before you turn the engine off so you will know which sensor to replace.

Well thats the thing... I dont have time to find a place to read codes. The lo9cal parts store dont have that code reader.

Don't have time?

Check with a different store or any mechanic shop, or see if you could borrow one from someone. Often times the smaller mechanic shops don't mind lending tools...I borrowed a lug wrench last year from a shop up the road for a co-worker who had a flat tire and he didn't know me from a hole in the ground.

the "TBS" and "GND" pins in the underhood diagnostic connector need to be connected to each other and then the key turned to "ON" in order for you to get the ABS codes... the codes will be blinked via the ABS light

the FSM states how to do so

ah HA !

Thats what I wanted to hear. I looked in the FSM before and couldn't find it. I went right on it this time.

Thanks TheMAN !

While looking to buy a P5 I drove one with both the e-brake and abs lights on. that cant be good i thought to myself! The guy who was selling it said he took it in (dunno where) and they couldn't figure it out. Needless to say I didn't buy it....

My 2003 FSM dont show me anything on how to jump the pins? Does anyone have a pic or a diagram on how to do this. It would be great!!

Can anyone tell wich connector this is ? I just came back from looking under there and cant seem to locate it. Am I blind ?

Maybe a pic would help ?

I think that the DLC is located uder the hood, it was on the driver's side on my 99 Protege, by where the wiper motor is.

Hope this helps
