A P5 you CAN'T HANDLE

yeah i have stock struts with tein s-tech springs.....so maybe i'll hear it or maybe not....could have to do with the weight you have in the trunk with ur system....

how much does it weigh....cuzz that could affect the rubbing alot....since more weight in back for you...makes the inside of the fenders sit closer to the tires....

i have one 12" sub...elemental design in a box built for the sub...and it weighs maybe 30-40lbs...if that....so i dont have alot of weight in my hatch like you do....so that could be a factor.

215/35R18 Toyo Proxes FZ4. Stock struts, Espelir springs.

Tried w/o spacers but when I took a corner real hard the inside of the outer rear wheel would scrape against the strut making a shaving sound with the rotation of the wheel...faint..but it was annoying. Sometimes it would make a knocking sound instead.

Installed 3mm spacers and then I would rub on the fenders when going over large dips/humps in the road.

Finally rolled fenders a little with a rubber mallet and heat gun and everything is good now.

So you might be OK if you have something other than stock struts, but otherwise...after a few weeks you may start to hear the noise I'm speaking about. I didn't hear it until at least a month later.

also....do your tires cover the rim completely...or does some of the rim stick out from under the tire??....i only ask cuzz my neighbor has an rx-8...with stock tire setup and it seems like the lip around the rim were the tire goes sticks out a little on all his rims......sorta like if you could walk up to the tire and push it back to see whats inside the rim...type of deal

how much did the tire cost you, this summer im going to look into purchasing these tires, have you experienced any pull? they look really sick, plus i'd like to keep my stock rims as a sleeper look incase any racing harts come my way by this summer =p

On the RX-8 rims on my p5 the rim sticks out farther than the tires. I'm actually thinking about getting rid of mine though, I have to worry about to much where i live.

they cost me $112 on tirerack.com...for that size....but if you have 16's or 17's im sure they would be cheaper....my grand total with the tires and road hazard warranty was $505+30 shipping....so $545....

just search tirerack.com....they have alot of good info on tires...as well as tire ratings.....

link for you...http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Yokohama&tireModel=Parada+Spec-2

You're right. I can't handle it. Too bright. The wheels are too bright. Waaaay too bright gold, like yellow. Just a bit too much for me, especially with the very low profile tires making it look all rim, no rubber. Sorry, that's just what I think.

I've been back and forth on the RX-8 wheels, but the practical side of me won't do it. A dark bronze on the rims would look much tougher on the black P5 IMHO, but kudos for being braver than I and doing it.

the hight of the rubber. I would recommend the 45's over the 40's.....I have 40's and I am afraid of hittin a nasty pothole and bending my rims.

either one is pretty much the same....40-45 your not getting that much more rubber....

and if you are affraid you are gonna bend a rim....then you have worse things to worry about....bending a rim is very highly unlikely.....especially if its not some crappy made rim.....even with a 35 profile tire....the likely hood of "bending" a rim is slim to none

to each his own....but your entitled to your opinion....thanks for the honesty.

sorry for the confusion josh. must be your camera like you said, i'll see them for myself tomarrow night if you come out. your car will be the highlight of the night like that turbo 323 was last time. sexy ass car man.

Lookin good. I'm really liking the JDM tails and 323F badge (heh). The roof rack has got to go though. When I first got my P5 I thought they looked cool but ever since I removed them over the summer all P5's I see with them just look weird. But yeah, sweet ride - definitely something different.

Looks awesome. Love the gold wheels on the black. JDM tails, always makes the backend look better. How bout some pics of what you did to the interior.

i thought those rx wheels would look so dope in gold and now that i see them, im iffy about the color. doesnt seem to go with the spoke design of the wheel. but the ride does look clean. props on the build up so far. keep it up mang
