The car seems to have a mind of it own in regards to the A/C unit. The unit was not cooling the car at all for 300 miles at 75 miles. Then the unit function properly. This is the first time the unit is really been used for extensive period time. Any in-put would be nice before i take into the dealer.

+1 on the ac clutch, pop the hood, run the engine w/o the ac then turn it on listen for any squeaks/clicks or grinding. Had the same problem on my old car

There's a tsb related to the AC evaporator being too cold that ice forms on it and blocking air flow.

Bombermax is correct - the TSB is will probably address your problem. I had this happen to me last summer during a trip to Texas. The A/C worked fine for a while and then after a fill up, it would just blow air as if the a/c was turned off and the just the blower was on.

I believe that the TSB states that this happens in humid conditions.

I took the car in and explained the situation and the y took care of it right away.

Good luck.

Talk to dealer

Talk to your dealer. They will read the TSB and install a honeycomb looking device in front of your AC evaporator to break up the airflow. This corrects the problem.

same problem

I seem to be having the same problem with my 2004 Mazda 3s. On long road trips the blower starts to slow down so that almost nothing comes out of the vents. Sometimes a stop for a bit will help, but it eventually occurs again.

Since there is a TSB for this problem to add the air filter set, will the dealer still fix it if it's not under warranty anymore? Or will it probably cost an arm and a leg for parts/labor?

I don't have much left - they already took one leg last week for transmission flush & oil change! (notcool)

I took the car into the dealership for a/c issues. The bulletin number is 07-004/08, which replaces the Harness (BPY1-61-545A) and Cabin Air Filter (BP8P-61-J6X). Hope this help somebody in the future.
